  1. That's certainly not characteristic of the 5's...It's not even like the 3's. Hopefully the guys helping thus far will be able to figure it out. Not to assume things, but have you tested them against another amp? It just seems really strange that if you listened to them once they sounded fine, but sounded different when you got them home.
  2. IMO non-ported centers tend to sound better...but that's just me. I don't have any plans to ever own a 64. A 7...now you might get me there...
  3. I know where I'm going on Tuesday then. Could use some Parm-Garlic wings as well. Cold beer is a must with wings...... I prefer a gentlemen's drink myself. A rum and coke does just fine.
  4. You know what...if I have to suffer - this forum has to suffer too... http://youtu.be/Cwy1___CL-U

  6. <Insert inappropriate joke> tee hee hee... Softies...
  7. My understanding is you would probably need to modify the cabinet. If I remember right, another forum member tried to replace it with a better driver, but ended up needing to refit it entirely. You might be better off just using another Promedia 2.1 driver.
  8. Good thing I'm sane...or what most people consider sane. lol
  9. As soon as I read the OP had an RX-Z11, I started drooling. You sir have a system I'd kill to have.
  10. I prefer vanilla myself. Chocolate has never done it for me except in rare cases. Might have to try these with some home dipped pretzels and toppings for the holidays.
  11. I clicked on the pictures and I swear I heard an angelic chorus...sweet mother of pretzels those look fantastic!
  12. That's actually not too bad of a deal...if I was in the D.C. area I'd probably snag these up.
  13. I think your subwoofer is haunted. Better call the Ghost Hunters over at TAPS. In other news - I have a sub that uses a downfiring slot port that seems to work out just fine. Although I can adjust it to be front firing (since it's setup to work that way as well), I don't mainly because...finding right angle subwoofer cables in town is a nightmare...
  14. With the grill on, you'd never hear or see it. I've seen much worse. I'm a perfectionist. lol
  15. It's all relative. I love my 3's, but I've heard the 5's and hands down they are a better speaker IMO - totally underrated.
  16. In the 24 years I've lived on this rock hurtling through space, that day alone is the one that I can recall most vividly. My heart still aches for those families that were broken apart that day...
  17. I just have to say...that is one purdy amp... Welcome to the forum op
  18. That's the first guy I fenaggled with. He had a damaged RC-3 II that was trying to sell it as new. The surrounds were in nice shape, but the center was a disaster. He actually texted me earlier this morning. At any rate, I'm set on surrounds now - so that means some other lucky dog is gonna get them.
  19. I've done A/B listening between the 82's and the 3's before and hands down I always selected the 3's on their own. The 82's seemed tinny to me. To each their own, but I can say the same for the surrounds and centers too. I may own some new reference stuff, but if I was given an option I'd go back to the single digits in a heartbeat. But again, that's just me.
  20. I guess I tend to forget there are other Reference speakers then RF-7's, and RF-5's. These where the speakers that first got me to notice Klipsch. When they replaced them with from what I felt was a down grade, I guess I felt the same as you. I can relate to this, I've always thought and do still think that the 3's, 5's, and 7's were better.
  21. Their site isn't easy to navigate, it's as if it's broken and incomplete and new all at the same time. There was one review that I found that happened to be in regards to them selling Klipsch on eBay where they were hassling the individual over a damaged RSW sub. Other than that there's not a lot of info on them.
  22. The RS would at least allow for wide dispersion of sound. I'd personally go for the RS.
  23. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-RSW-15-Powered-Subwoofer-Black-/121428519929?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item1c45b42bf9 Going for $900...
  24. I imagine when some of you guys buy new speakers/equipment your wife turns into Ricky Ricardo... "...you got some esplainin' to do!"
