I went and bought a Pecan Pie---I did my duty---I love Pecan Pie--OK it's for me. There is an Apple Pie too but I ventured out for a Pecan Pie. I don't care about Black Friday--especially if I have a Pecan Pie. If I go shopping Friday---it'll be for More Pie---Thanks for asking.

A fundamental question about -6db on the squawker
rebuy replied to jwgorman's topic in Technical/Restorations
The ear is more sensitive to those mid frequencies, so louder sound in the mids, can be more grating to some people--getting you the Big Eye when you turn it up. I set my speakers that way also and can play it louder without complaints. -
You can make a will at Legal Zoom for a lot less that hiring a Lawyer. Go look at the website.

The Flat Frequency Respone, Yes/No for Music
rebuy replied to derrickdj1's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I'll admit that I do use the EQ's built into my Denon. For TV and Movies I use Audyssey and it does make those sources sound great. For Music--Not So Much. My speakers sound pretty good without EQ and for the Average Listener but I'm not the average listener. Isn't that why we Tweak ? -
Reading reviews can be amusing. Especially speaker reviews. Many of these people should not own audio equipment. Can I plug these Klipsch directly into my phone or do I need a receiver? Take it with a grain of salt.

In that case I would disconnect my speakers from that AVR. Sounds like something very wrong with it and it could damage your speakers. Get a different AVR.- 20 replies

With Very Efficient Speakers like Klipsch--I personally think Bi-amping with a Receiver is a waste of time and a waste of Power from the receiver. Maybe in Less Efficient Speakers bi amping is a good idea. Anyway when you bi-amp with a AVR since you are using an extra 2 channels you are reducing power to ALL the speakers in the sound system. If you're worried about bi-amping use the supplied jumped bars that came with the speakers and hook the speakers up to the upper terminal. Just my 2 cents.

From what I've seen Audyssey comes in Bronze, Silver and Gold.

I do not like hanging with large crowds anymore--not worth the trouble -
I decided to get a "modern" AVR for home. Since I don't have a big budget like some here--and after reading many reviews at Sound and Vision I decided to go with the Denon X1200W--7.2. It has all the Bells and Whistles and Baby ATMOS. Baby ATMOS is 7.2 instead of 9.2. The Audyssey Silver did a nice job setting up the sound for movies after taking readings at 8 locations. It also has a built in equalizer that works well. I was concerned that the sound would be a step down from my Harman Kardon. These Denon amps are clean and dynamic. I'm surprised how good they sound. They sound much better than my Yamaha or Onyko that I've owned. Set up was so Easy--even a caveman could do it.

Do you use this or not? I'm getting Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction Just wanted your take....
