  1. Probably a good way to go. Will they sound like the Fortes? No they will not, but a pair on nice stands with a small sub will sound very good in a room this size. I used to run a pair of their predecessors (RB61 IIs as my mains) on nice metal stands. Visually they open up the room, and if you spend a little time noodling with the sub settings they will sound like floor standers.
  2. My BB Priv died on me last year, I got a Galaxy, the first non BB in my life. My wife's Priv died in the fall, she has also gone the Galaxy route. I still miss my physical keyboard.
  3. Nice to hear, a friend suggested it may be what I am after so I have been looking into them. The reviews sound very good. Not insanely expensive either. Was it a pretty seamless addition for you?
  4. Very good. I like this guy and his presentation style. Nice to see his wife has gradually become an integral part of the process. They work well together.
  5. The Pro-Ject turntables are quite nice, the Klipsch edition would be well worth having.
  6. I am seriously considering a Bluesound Node 2 this year.
  7. Starting off the new year a little nippy, -41 with a -52 wind chill. Good day to stay in and listen to tunes which is exactly what we are going to
  8. Edmonton gets pretty cold. Funny enough up here we consider it "down south" and go there for shopping holidays.
  9. We are back into the deep freeze today, -38 with a -48 wind chill. I think I'll need to zip out and pick up some scotch today. https://www.weather.gc.ca/city/pages/nt-24_metric_e.html
  10. I like it, great photo.
  11. A foot or so should be fine for the passive radiator, you just don't want it to close. Too far and you minimize the benefit the design provides. I would recommend start about 10" out and adjust in one inch increments. When it locks you will hear it.
  12. A nice mild -24 with light snow. Feels good after the last couple weeks in the deep freeze. https://www.weather.gc.ca/city/pages/nt-24_metric_e.html
  13. I enjoy the British film, A Christmas Carol, with Alastair Sim. We watched it again last night.

    Merry Christmas

I hope the day is very enjoyable and meaningful for all those who celebrate. All the best from the north.
  15. Always liked the Vince Guaraldi Trio album.
  16. Well I hope it all worked out and the last minute shopping was successful! Merry Christmas to all.
  17. As Islander mentioned, size. Any studio I have been in or worked in (did a fair bit of radio and voice over work in the past), has had space limitations. That being the case, accurate, smaller sized near field speakers facing the mixing board were utilized. One of the reasons the legendary BBC LS3/5 series speakers were originally developed. I suppose a very large studio could make good use of a modern Jubilee.
  18. I suppose they could, more a matter of bragging rights than a line that would be much of a revenue generator.
  19. I don't think it is actually that large of a market. There are only so many studios and so many people who want these types of speakers for home use.
  20. Actually the Klipsch indoor/outdoor series are probably your best solution. They come with mounting brackets and sound great at low volumes. They are quite commonly used up here in stores in the West Edmonton Mall. I have seen them in many restaurants and pubs as well.
  21. And a video to set the mood for a Hanukkah Saturday night.
