  1. The topic should be "what should I do with a pair of Magnepan MMGs?" :-) Congrats on your find! Have you tried hooking up the CW3's to your main system?
  2. Agreed on all counts except the intent - living in Chicago, I'm a little more suspicious of the intent of our mayor and governor. It's just part of growing up here. At least in Chicago, regardless of whether you died from covid19 or the flu, you will receive two mail-in ballots this Fall 🤣. So we have that going for us.
  3. I agree with you - covid19 patients end up in the ICU far more often than ILI patients. I never attempted to compare the two.
  4. I saw that data too. I also don't know what the turnover is but we know that covid patients end up in the ICU more often and for longer stays than ILI patients, I would also expect a much higher number.
  5. I agree there are a lot more covid19 ICU admissions than ILI ICU admissions during this time period, but I would not say it is insignificant. What catches my eye on the ILI admissions are 1) there is no tail, it's a cliff, and 2) the cliff began the same week we all went into lockdown. What happened?
  6. IMHO, this year's graph drops off a cliff and goes missing-in-action the last 2.5 months - especially for the 65+ age group. Maybe there is a reasonable explanation as you suggest, but if you lived in Illinois, you'd feel differently 🤣
  7. Actually no this is not true. The 2018-2019 flu season, although not as high as this year, has a much longer tail well into May. You are right, I should have included this for comparison so you could see for yourself, but I left it off for space/clarity reasons. My error. Here's the complete chart for both years.
  8. And in an unbelievable stroke of good fortune, here in Illinois, our scientists found a cure for the seasonal FLU right around the week of March 21st. ICU admissions for the Flu plummeted to near zero that week. Our governor should sell this to the rest of the country to eliminate our state debt.
  9. Yes, I've noticed in Illinois, very few people decide to die on the weekend - especially not a holiday weekend.
  10. I think I saw a boom-mic pop into the frame in the top left. I'm sure the director fired somebody for that! 😉
  11. Yes, assuming your sources and TV support those higher standards.
  12. AV pre-pros are expensive - they remove the amp and load it up with premium components at a premium price. You can get an AVR with multi-channel pre-outs for much less. For HDMI, if you are considering 4K video, then HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.3 copyright protection looks like it is the latest (this year.). You can check accessories4less for one of the major Japanese brands (used) but I don't see anything close to $200 with the specs you want.
  13. A ~5db delta between the left and right tweeter doesn't look right to me. I would check your connections on the left tweeter too.

    RIP Jimmy Cobb

I listened to this one in his honor this morning. Outstanding. From 2009.
  15. Agree - optical digital output from TV to the right speaker. Depending on your TV, you could also do the 3.5mm mini-jack or bluetooth as well. I have the R15-PMs (older models) that I can send Bluetooth audio from the TV out to the speakers.
  16. How did they compare to the stock LSII crossovers?
  17. I thought reconstruction happened at the last step - going from digital to analog? Correction above on my part - Airplay is 44.1/16, the Apple TV upsamples everything to 48/16. So I think this is better: 320 kbit internet stream --> desktop browser/app decodes/uncompresses to 44.1/16 ---> Airplay 44.1K/16 bit digital stream --> Apple TV upsample to 48/16 --> Output either 48/16 digital-out OR (deconstructed) analog-out depending on how you have it connected.
  18. 320 kbit internet stream --> desktop browser/app --> upsample to Airplay 48K/16 bit digital stream --> Apple TV --> either 48/16 digital-out OR analog out depending on how you have it connected.
  19. When the quarantine order came down in March, something tells me this reviewer did not have to make any lifestyle changes 🙂
  20. How do they sound? Post pictures or it didn't happen....
  21. Agree with Bill on speaker placement first. Also, try turning off an EQ/DSP on the Onkyo. I'm not sure how to do this as I've never owned one. But try enabling whatever minimalist 2-channel (no sub) setting they have. Usually this is called something like pure-direct or analog-out. Make sure your AVR isn't doing something strange.
