How much are my 1987 Cornwall I's worth
baron167 replied to Chris Elm's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
How are these not worth $1400 as described ? They need this and they need that. No, they don’t. The price bashing on this forum is questionable. Rant over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hey, I tried [emoji2369] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are these one of the pairs I inspected and listed to? I can vouch for them. They sound fantastic in original condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

[emoji2369] oh well, I was going by what I saw in the crappy picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not much to say, but I (also) have 1990 all stock La Scalas with AL-3’s. I absolutely love them as is. I bought AA’s when a pair came up to swap out and try, but it has not happened yet. I can shape the sound of my system quite a bit if needed, but I normally run flat / tone bypass. Maybe I’ll update the AA’s with new caps and go from there... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks good. I’m limited to Aqualung on vinyl. What’s the tonearm? I had a carbon fiber tonearm for about a month (Project Debut Carbon) I had high hopes for. Dialed in the 2M bronze today. Might be done tinkering for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another simple reason not sound related is that Lid Up makes for a much better picture (not shooting through the lid) [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The digits in front on the rest of the number were blurred out, to be clear. SWIDT? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Installed. Side 1 White Album. Can’t say it’s not the best I’ve ever heard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fine customer service is hard to find and not to be shared as truth for it will go into the ether to never be experienced again. It’s never the company, but always the person or people. ps I remember barely passing the negativity test when joining this forum. I’m reminded daily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you put the oppo in that setup and tried it? So many glowing reviews on it, I’d give that a shot with my Jubilees (if I had them). If not good enough, I’d look for a high end transport and a stand-alone high end DAC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

V15v-mr (not the x version)with mr stylus on a damaged boron cantilever brought a whopping $150. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bounced it off Paul (FullRange) who runs the blackbird and enjoys it. Then Mike (dirtmudd) threw another cart into the mix. Many thanks, gentlemen! Much appreciated. Richard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the tips, but I actually sold the Shure. The DV 20 is now on my list as a next cart. Thanks again, Richard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have not heard any Dynavectors, yet, but i have read many positive reviews on a few models including their entry level cart. Speaking of stylus shape, I think DVs use Micro Ridge, I was impressed with the Micro Ridge performance the Shure V15 VxMR cart / VN5xMR stylus I had before its boron cantilever met an accident that ended its stay on my main table. I have mainly been running a Denon DL110 that is very good. I have a friend that is very happy with his 2M Blue, which was an influence on me. I was focusing on mostly MC’s like the Hana SH or SL, but this 2M Bronze deal popped up and I couldn’t pass up on it. While I’m not thrilled it’s an MM, I’m not expecting to be disappointed. I went with a Yamaha RX-A2080 about a week ago. It’s quite a beast. I researched and read quite a bit before buying it. It has some features I likely won’t use, but so far it meeting or exceeding all my expectations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After window shopping MC, MM, and MI carts the last couple years with sub $500 price, I stumbled upon one of my top choices at a price I could not pass up. So without going into too much detail about the many tables and carts I have used over the years or currently use, and based on the overwhelming amount rock I listen to, I chose an Ortofon 2M Bronze. Looking forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good googly moogly! WOW! I’m impressed and intrigued. I’ve done some printing. This is a serigraph and you printed it? Happy to chat in PM so we don’t flood (see what I did there?) this thread with printing talk [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some say it’s a perfect album. I have listened to it on different formats a lot over the years. Here’s to the vinyl version. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Big 10 Lies of Audio that refuse to die

This is from 2000 and is as much bad writing as it is bad opinions wrapped up in some fancy drivel for a paycheck. by Peter Aczel, Editor, The Audio Critic, Issue No. 26, Fall 2000, (reprinted with permission) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
