I was doing this I hate to admit with the tissue, and it did work. You will get some chuckles on here for saying it After I got the Loki, I was afraid I would get Schiit on the Tissue. I like the Loki better.

When I first started coming here I just got my klipsch speakers and I loved them until I noticed it they made my head hurt. When I said something about it on the forum it went to do you have ear problems to gear not working well with them and a few almost sounded mad lol. I think klipsch are great speakers but in some rooms with some equipment they are little hot around 4000 hz and in my crappy room I need to drop it about 2 db on the high end also. With some songs I can go to flat and it sound fine but most of the time in my room they need just a fuzz less. This does not take away from the speakers at all in my opinion and after getting the loki for control I can't imagine speakers sounding better for what I have invested. I see alot of speaker mods done on here but I would almost bet 80 percent of the problems could easily be fixed with alittle eq. I can see replacing things on really old speakers. I love the dynamics of the speakers and would rather have to tame alittle brightness then them being dull and lifeless.

All the RP280F speakers need is little eq. Tamed just a fuzz they went from wow my head hurts to wow those sound perfect. I have a crappy room so that does not help.

I love the smoker dtel. Im mostly a hickory man and if used right tastes great. Peach wood is perfect with pork also. If you have never tried peach give it a shot. I don't usually like how my food turns out when I mix woods as well as when I just use one kind at a time personally but alot of people would not agree. Food looks great! I love Boston Butts pulled better than about anything. A little rub and sometimes a touch of sauce and a big ol onion slice. Most the time no sauce for me but the wife likes it. I make it sometimes but sweat baby rays most the time. Or some blues hog smokey mountain if im using any.

I guess im a schiit head because I looked back and have talked about the loki 18 times. I sound like a broken record . I guess this is the forum to sound like one!

I don’t know much but I know antennas! Go to innovantenna and check out the 8 element 88-108 Mhz OP-DES or look up taco fm broadcast band antennas. I don’t have time to find them now but will tonight if you can’t find. I use a VHF antenna and it works very well!

I run a large home brew amplifier for transmitting running a Russian steel triode and it dims the lights when I talk. It’s a GS-35B if anyone knows what I’m talking about.

I love the Loki. So quiet and gives tons more control than you would think! I’ve always been an eq guy, and need it in my bad room. Like said above a lot easier than rebuilding speakers, and you can use on any speakers you put inline. I can’t understand how anyone can say they prefer the Loki not being used, to having the Loki inline tuned to how your ears think it sounds best if they are totally honest with themselves! Check out the vid on head fi and it explains a lot about how it covers the whole frequency range from 20 to 20000 Like stated above you can set it and forget it most of the time like they say on the ronco adds.

The only time I didn't' like the wall around the smoker was the day a snake came out of it and looked at me face to face!

I have the rp280s and love them. I do not use a sub for music. I have a small sub I use for tv. I have a very sonically average room so I had to cut the highs a fuzz to tame the brightness. Either the 8000s or 280s would be my pick for what you say you want to spend. Most people push what they own and thats not a bad thing because usually what you have is what you like but like was said above rp280f speakers can be had on the cheap right now and everything is new being crossovers ,drivers and such. Im listening to mine right now and for the price the clarity is off the charts! I bought these thinking I would go up the line in time but now I'm not sure. They sound that good. I use little 4 band schiit loki eq and it works great!!!! Klipsch are usually brighter than some other brands and in a bad room can put some off as being harsh. Cut back the highs and around 4ooo hz fuzz if needed and to me they sound perfect! to my crusty older ears.!
