  1. That is an accomplishment! Bravo!!
  2. We had a wall of about 42 pine trees around the perimeter plus more shade trees in the yard for late am through the pm radiant heat from the sun. That helped a lot year round. HUGO destroyed most of it, took 60 trees from this third of an acre.
  3. blame it on Grace this was down there and I miss Chef and the boys from southpark: Isaac always sang this dude
  4. She was / is baaad aasss she did her own stunts and hurt other actors in that movie she did with Arnold.
  5. Hey I though of you when i started the thread bud, jump right in I almost put up some funk earlier but didn't want to ruin my rep here. *what the h%ll
  6. Cool @Fido and that satin Minwax just has a glow to it, My H IIs from 1990 were raw birch I did that and they still looked the same when I sold them last year! You know the finish will slightly darken the stain but I'd bet multiple coats of tung oil would darken it a good bit more.
  7. I hear you about the ac shock in August or the flame searing fireplace blower vs 5 degrees in Feb. When it's 78 and nice like today we pop the hatches if pollen and humidity are low like today. Just the ceiling fans. 60 at night in the winter is warm enough with blankets on the bed except the walls get cold when it's 20 outside. We don't have insulation between the brick and the sheetrock, they didn't do that here in 1958 when energy was so cheap. Ma worked two jobs to keep us going and dressed without her other half that no more got done here except above and below that we did. Remember the asbestos blower trucks all over blowing that gray crap into the walls and attics of houses all around here when I was in grade school.
  8. That looks nice! I like poly because it seals and protects, but I loathe the latex kind. It has to be alkyd (oil based) in my mind to be worth a darn. Also satin or matte, but that's just my preference, a couple of coats and you're done. Forever. I think it looks better than any gloss. I don't know if alkyd is available anymore especially since you're in CA.
  9. We did not even make it to 70 here yesterday because of all the rain, still cool right now. Darn humidity still feels like 90% out there though. We'll be using the ac again soon, back to normal by the weekend.
  10. Might be just me, but you gotta utilize what you have. Spread `em, The LS are magnificent to hear. Re arrange the room put one on one short wall and one on the other across the room!
  11. Ha, yes, but they were talking about the dominant goalie and smothering total defense of the entire Blues team. Especially Weeks and he was mediocre at best for us years ago.
  12. Yea those discs work great, just touch your tongue to one side then stick it to the glass. Used five on the tops to my H IIs and they stuck for thirty years. I assume the painted side of the glass is the underside they probably will still work. Nice Clean set of Belles!
  13. Great defense and stifling checking plus Binnington the rookie that bested our Cam Ward by one game in his rookie year Cup win. Fifty minutes in you knew what was going to happen, those bruins were toast and they knew it you could see it in their play. That was close to a shutout win for St Louis, those two seconds of distraction cost him. His is an RFA and is moving to a new tax bracket this year! Guys on NHL network are talking about the game being so "complete", implying it in a historical perspective.
  14. Glad the blues won, but I've got to say that Chara impressed me years ago with ability and how he could use his size. Past week and minutes ago he impressed with his character. Enjoy it Blues Fans!
  15. #10 put the dagger in pretty deep a few min ago. We'll have to hear those bostonians griping again! Heck it's 4-0 now!!!🙂
  16. Twenty some minutes into the Savoy Brown trip way back now. Nice stuff "the Album Station" was what they called our FM hangout here, they played this stuff in the broad daylight. Can't let go of this one, can't play it either... too much party mileage:
  17. Thanks @HDBRbuilder Haven't heard that band since the 80s probably, sounds like a rockin night at the pool hall !! Think my uncle was back at Fayette-nam then, do you recall a big as a tank Sherman Johnson from back then?
  18. Not a mod, already tried in corners on the floor unobstructed and angled up a little? It does make a difference in bass response. I did that and knocked the treble pot back to 11:00 for years with mine.
  19. Start the second part of my am... yea up at five today with some energetic tunes while I'm re-caffeinating:
  20. beans and peppers peppers and beans
  21. Have rain coming in on the radar again, started on me as soon as I stepped off the sidewalk a couple hours ago. I have to clean up around the twelve foot wide perimeter, only do it a third as much as I should recently. I could start a nursery, nobody would want the poison ivy or other vine coming over from Mordor. I wondered why that chinese family burned everything off the lawn with weedeaters for several years. I mean all the way to the dirt, bare dirt, took down all the trees and covered the literally rotten wood siding in the gables with vinyl. Now I know that the bad stuff went under the fence and popped up in my yard where there was decades of rich dirt around the perimeter. (smiley with steam coming off my head) Oak, Maple, RedBud, ligustrum bush/trees too. All volunteers from stuff dropped by the birds. Got the two 32 gal lawn trash cans stuffed full already. Second coffee should be ready by now.

Geeze, my mom & dad would not let me go see that when it came out. None of the others around here either, those grown-ups conspired against us! One of the kids a grade older than me got to go, his folks let him see The Exorcist too! Hope it comes around this fall, I'd go to a movie for the first time since the 90s!
  24. Ha just a simple fact. When I've posted Frank Marino it barely gets a rise out of anybody here. Seriously?... the cosmic brother of Jimi ? I did not miss out seeing him half a dozen times when Foghat quit opening for the bigger rock shows around here. They took Black Oak Arkansas's place, after them it was Funk Rock Georgia's Mothers Finest. Frank played with his teeth behind his back, flat on the floor could run all over the stage like Ted. Flat out fast fingers. You guys have missed out on Hendrix's quasi-real protegee! Or maybe just my posts about him. I did have the privilege of having a friend at the record bar from Idaho or somewhere else deep in the dustbowl that turned me on to the Rockets, Shooting Star, and some other "biker band" rock bands. Then later a "workout" friend introduced me to Concrete Blonde, that wasn't big down here. Like you know, a lot can be learned here, I learned Alvin Lee will be in my collection soon even if it's just bookmarks in chromium. Thanks for the tip, I can look for that LP next trip to the record store
