I didn't care for what the XLS and the XTI series did to the highs. Not saying the K1 and K2 are perfect in that category either, but much more clear and detailed without a "hazy muffled" type of sound. This has been my experience.

I think if I had more width available in my room, I may have preferred the Forte IIIs WITH SUBS. Without, Cornwall IIIs all day long. Same room indeed, MY room, preferences and electronics. The Cornwalls were the low volume kings. The lowest of volumes in fact. Can't say the same about the Forte IIIs... I still liked them, don't get me wrong. Foudn their positioning a PITA and the need to be fired straight ahead in my room and careful positioning from back wall. Cornwalls? Guess what? Stuff them in the corner and enjoy.

For the record, these are "dry cell" batteries. Where you get them from matters.... Dry cell batteries mishandled are trash

Preaching to the choir. I have always had optimas in my cars (red or yellow) . Yellow tops are even better with SERIOUS car stereos. A little over $100 for guaranteed dependability, yes please.
