  1. Yes we are all from California. I am going to start a new thread called kicking and screaming. I hope you will come visit the thread and post there to show your support.
  2. Not looking to pick a fight whatsoever, but I am very curious as this list is lengthy and complete.... BUT, This begs the question: What DO you like about this forum? Arguments get heated around here and I feel the moderators do a solid job of putting the fires out. As far as I know, this "job" that they perform certainly doesn't help the mortgage get paid.. Keep that in mind before bashing those that help make this an enjoyable place for many.

Haha I bought a few bottles for my parents and they said the sauce was quite tasty but not hot to them. Just a touch of heat was the exact wording.
  4. Breaking up personal attacks, if I needed Crossovers built, Dean would be my first call if I wanted to spend a little more than with Crites, but get something nicer. Thanks for the ear candy and I certainly don't consider you a snake oil salesman and I think it in poor taste that you were labeled as such.
  5. Yeah man take em. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. Let us know how it goes.
  6. Doesn't hurt to offer a touch less and feel out the deal. If he says no, I don't think the price is unreasonable if you are in the market, as they aren't easy to fine. You can get good money for the heresy II if you are patient.
  7. Lemme think about that one for a second.... Yes. The Cornwalls IMO are a significant upgrade over what you have. Dynamics, bass extension, tweeters to ear level, efficiency and so on. Do it and post them pics.
  8. Count me in as a responder for those ugly Walnut jubes.
  9. That's a shame. Many are on here regularly, even daily. A little thanks now and again certainly doesn't hurt.
  10. I myself have experienced this (won't say what exactly) and I appreciate all that you guys do in keeping things civil and enjoyable around here.
  11. I have used PrimaLuna and rogue audio with great results. Who knows, maybe I should go back to a tube amp (not a $5k used model though). I would only be willing to try something different if I am thoroughly dissatisfied with my current purchase.
  12. Those are fighting words there for sure..... Then again, this thread was becoming stale and clearly needed some more pot stirring.
  13. Could be. I have heard plenty a McIntosh amp/Preamp combo but admittedly, none of them was ever with klipsch or any horn loaded speaker for that matter. McIntosh is generally above my pay grade which is why I have never given them a go in any of my systems. For my $$$, spending more on a preamp than on my main speakers surpasses the point of diminishing returns. I'm sure they sound amazing.
  14. I would say it sounds between what some might called a typical dry sterile solid state sound and a warm, fleshed out midrange tube sound. Def trade offs with digital IMO, but i decided to try out this setup after loving my last amp from them. Will report back after some time with them, perhaps in another thread.
  15. Very different. Best I can do with quick words on paper. No tube amp I have ever heard has the control that the digital amps do over the bass. Tubes amp sound MUCH better in the mids IMO. Highs are also softened, but sound quite different...
  16. I believe he is speaking about the theoretical stress that a ported woofer MAY endure if improperly designed. They always warn you in car audio if you try to go big and extreme to use a subsonic filter. The higher that filter is, the more headroom you will have and the less stress the amp and woofer will endure. In a, sealed "Tuning the port is a science and is done through calculations including the size and length of the port among other things. But if a port is not tuned correctly, it can limit the performance of your subwoofer(s) and/or have a damaging effect that may eventually cause your sub to fail. Improper tuning will still cause unnecessary stress, and will hinder performance." I wouldn't consider using one except on a rare occasion if I wanted to push speakers to their limits and not worry about clipping the amp and blowing drivers. I would be much more worried about smoking a tweeter than a woofer any day. I had stated in another thread here that I have NEVER seen or heard of a smoked woofer ever before. I wouldn't worry about these things for home use....
  17. I don't think it will make a significant difference either way unless you are stomping on the sub hard with at least the rated power amount. For pro application at full output, I deem it mandatory to not blow gear up (even if the amp doesn't clip). For home use, I kind of doubt you are ever going to approach that subs limits.... You will approach the cops and neighbors limits much sooner.
  18. No, but pro gear is designed to run very high power levels with high sustained SPL and has neglible output below the rated frequency response. Not using a HPF will cause unnecessary stress on the low frequency drivers, muddy bass, power compression and reduced headroom. Cornwalls have an extended bass range and are designed to run that way. In general, I don't think people are trying to host a concert with cornwalls in their living rooms either. Different application. It wouldnt hurt to run a HPF on Cornwalls either, but I don't see the point and depending on where that filter came from in a full range speaker, I think more harm than good to the signal may result.
  19. Personally, I feel there a quite a few people thay would like the trade off. Listener fatigue is a terrible thing and the better class D amps are extremely smooth and invite you to listen all day, yet still Gloss over the top end a bit IMO. They have the detail, it is just veiled a bit. I loved the sound of the last wyred 4 Sound Amp I had, so I took the plunge. Doesn't help that I am listening to entirely new system at once, but we will see. So far I feel the trade offs are favorable.
  20. Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 and STI-500V2 integrated Amplifier. Digital is very clean, with very black background and iron fisted control over the bass. I love the sound but I have always felt digital amps Gloss over the high end a bit (soften). So far so good.
  21. Those heresys sure are purdy. I had some zebrawoods for sale but I much prefer the look of yours. Wish you a prompt sale.
  22. Pictures would really help you sell, especially at these asking prices. Not to mention, everyone wants to see the Brazilian wood I'm sure 👍. GLWS man. Sorry you had to part with your gear to free up cash flow, you have some nice gear there.
