They charge more for hardware and software from my understanding. The DAC chip alone doesn't determine the resulting sound. I had a (not cheap whatsoever for me) PS Audio DAC I Hated it. I bought another DAC with the same chip and the sound couldn't have been any different. I was amazed.

It's not the riser cost I would be worried about, it would be the refinance on the house to pay for the speaker cables.

I pulled the trigger on the wyred 4 Sound DAC2. I got a pretty decent deal. Benchmark is my go to, but they are expensive for anything modern. The DAC is bought isn't the latest but it's not ancient.

For 5k I would agree and if they were near me for that price, I would buy them. That finish is one of the nicest I have seen and he claims they are near immaculate.

I saw those on Phoenix Craigslist for 6500. Tempting if they are real. Haven't seen another pair like em for sale.

In communication over a Wyred 4 Sound piece, may or may not go for it. Great ratings on the unit.

@Rich_Guy, I am also close to this listing and couldn't agree with you more. Often klipsch around for sale is in poor shape for premium pricing around here.

Hello all. As the title says, I am looking for a sub $1000 DAC, new or used. Interested in recommendations. I made a new klipsch purchase (won't share yet) and already got a new wyred 4 Sound integrated amp to power. Let's hear what your choices are. Micromega mydac looks interesting for the price and has great reviews. I have always used benchmark in the past, but I am not looking to spend that kind of coin right now. Thanks for your input.

Coat hangers 👍 Sounds about right. I have heard the argument both ways many times. I tried for myself and settled on results that my ears were content with for reasonable money.

If you can afford either and or have the room, you will NOT be sorry with Danley or JTR. One will be more than enough.

You are begging for trouble with either of those topics. I'll make that one easy for you. 75% here would say there is ZERO difference between aluminum foil as speaker wire and a 100k pair of cables. Interconnects, I'm sure the same would be said. I fall into the other 25% but look for bang for the buck and performance.

I'll give a second vote for B&K amps sounding excellent while being very smooth. Easy on the wallet as well...
