  8. I have searched online high and low and can't come up with an example showing the install with gaskets, let alone a vendor to buy from... Question: When installing a woofer to the front of a baffle, what do folks use to seal the back of the woofer frame to the cabinet? I contacted SimplySpeakers, a reconing supplier, they said there used to be thin rubber/cork gaskets used, but no longer available. What do you guys use/recommend? The woofer in question is a 12" designed to be front and rear mounted.
  9. Awesome! I can't thank you enough...the HF section has a L Pad on it, so I should be able to attenuate to get a closer match
  10. Can someone take a look at the schematic below and assist me in confirming proper values? What am I missing? I am looking to modify a simple crossover LF section designed for an 8 ohm woofer. I will be the using the same woofer with a 16 ohm VC. From what I understand you need to halve the value of each capacitor and double the value of each inductor or resistor. Does this also apply to the Zobel components? (I have thought about reconing with an 8 ohm VC, but these are original)
  11. what amp you using it with?

  13. I wouldn't rule out push pull tube amps out of hand...I have used a Dynaco st-35 clone (~17 watts/channel) paired with my LaScalas...IMO it is a great pairing for the LS/beginners, they are readily available used for half your budget...
  14. Depends on how you intend to use them...my suggestion is to google "Altec User Group"...
