  1. Dean, you did excellent work on my crossovers. Positive feedback has been left.
  2. It does not generate that much heat, but it is very good IMO.
  3. I don't know him. I graduated in May 2004. I still have webspace access for a year after that.
  4. I forgot to mention the tubes. NOS Mullard 5AR4 Scott branded 7189 Scott branded 6BL8 2 Telefunken 12AX7 I do not know the brand of the other 2 12AX7 tubes, but they are NOS.
  5. Here are the links to the only pictures that I have http://www.student.gsu.edu/~jdodson/299A-front1.jpg http://www.student.gsu.edu/~jdodson/299A-front2.jpg http://www.student.gsu.edu/~jdodson/299A-rear.jpg http://www.student.gsu.edu/~jdodson/299A-top.jpg http://www.student.gsu.edu/~jdodson/vm.jpg Thanks for looking
  6. I have a Scott 299A that I would like to offer for sale. It was rebuilt by NOSValves some time ago. It works really well. I thought I would offer it here first. I am looking for $550 (shipping and volt meter included). I prefer PayPal. I will consider other offers. Fist come first serve.
  7. If you decide to go with vintage equipment, a rebuilt Scott 299 series would be a great choice... I have a rebuilt 299A that was rebuilt by NOSValves some time ago that I am willing to sell for $550 (including shipping). I use it with my Forte. Happy listening
  8. Currently have: Forte II Promedia 2.1 Used to have: KG2 KG4 Academy
  9. Do you have to have wood? You might be better served with spiked feet and no wooden base. I was in the same position some time ago. I went with a custom base from soundanchors.com. Looking back, I would have rather went with spikes. It is cheaper, and you do not have to wait for bases to be built. (I do like my bases thought.) Check out a few sites for spikes: audiopoints.com or mapleshaderecords.com.
  10. It is good enough if you are satified with the sound. If you are not satisfied with the sound, what area needs improvement? Have you tried different placement options? Source equipment? Cables? Crossover modifications? This is something to think about. I too have the Forte II, and I thought about changing this and that. In the end, I decided to leave well enough alone and enjoy the music and movies. (I did upgrade my crossovers.) Good luck
  11. Forte II all the way...at least until I can upgrade.
  12. Consider a NAD T532 Suggested price is $599, but I have seen them for a lot less. I got mine for $399. I am very satisfied.
  13. You may want to look at a combination player. Toshiba makes a dvd/tivo unit (model SD-400). It sells at BestBuy for $299. A 3 day programming guide is free and does not require a subscription to the tivo service. This may be all you need. You could also see info about it at www.tivo.com. If you are in area that supports digital cable, some companies are now providing a dvr integrated with a digital cable box. This is what I am using now. At one time, I had DirectTV/tivo. This was my best experience with a dvr.
  14. I ordered a component video cable. It was shipped fast. I was pleased.
  15. I dumped all of my HT stuff a while back. I wanted a simple room and a simple system. I also realized that I did not watch that much video to justify a room full of stuff. Also, the HT scene keeps changing, and I did not want to be in that rat race. It could be expensive trying to keep up with latest technology.
  16. Great pictures and thanks for sharing What model camera did you use?
  17. To Jolida owners, Does it have a variable output?
  18. I would have left it alone. Looks like Sealed was suspended.
  19. I had a buster in my life, but now I am busterfree. When I encounter a buster, I make sure I stay busterfree. A buster can defined in many ways and not limited to: a bad character, a no good never do right type of person, liar.
  20. Kick out the bad ones but do not close the forum
