  1. I pulled the trigger. I'm going to tell my wife it is your fault...LOL
  2. I checked the link you provided and it looked to me like the PS was not included, but I may have read it wrong. When I looked at the DOUK website they had a nice chart showing output with various power supplies and recommend using lower voltage (32 - 36) for lower distortion and longer life. Even with 32V, it will push over 100 wpc which should be more than enough for my needs. Definitely worth consideration. Edit: I just went back to the listing and looked again. Right there in the description it says 32 DCV Power Supply. DOH! That's what I get for going straight to the description and skipping the heading.
  3. @ClaudeJ1 What are you using for a power supply with your 3255 based chip amps?
  4. I checked out some of the early "clones" people have completed. Pretty cool stuff. Since they are all pretty recent, it will be interesting to see what they think after a little time. There are getting to be just too many choices in this world. Low cost Class A or low cost Class D? 😱
  5. That was my first guitar as well. I ended up trading for a Vox Student Prince when a former band mate decided he was done with rock and roll and wanted to be a folk musician. It was 1969 and Simon and Garfunkel were very popular.
  6. What Yamaha integrated were you using? I'm really curious about the ACA.
  7. My path has been something of a circle. Two channel to home theater, and now back to two channel. However, I do run my TV through my two channel set up using HDMI ARC. More for the ability to hear dialog than for theater-like sound, though.

    FRENCH TOAST

Pretty rare for me, too. It's actually been a while since I've had French Toast. I don't think Knock Your Sprouts Off bread from Aldi would be that good.

    FRENCH TOAST

I wonder if sharing favorite French Toast recipes could end up as contentious as discussions about capacitors? Let's see... When my grandkids were younger and would come to spend the night, it was always my job to make breakfast. The favorite was, of course, French Toast made with day old apple or peach/cinnamon bread. Paired with real maple syrup, thick cut bacon, and some creamy scrambled eggs with cheese, you've got the ideal coma inducing breakfast.

    FRENCH TOAST

Now I'm hungry for good French Toast and can't really do anything about it.
  11. I'm not a great player, and know that about myself. I'm a moderately competent rhythm player and that is probably all I will ever be. But, that's okay. I still love getting together with friends and making music. I started as a drummer and still enjoy that. What I really enjoy, though, is hearing a talented player making one of the guitars I've built sing. When that happens, I'm happy to be on drums, bass, rhythm guitar...whatever. Heck, I'm fine with a woodblock or cowbell. I just want to be part of making the music.
  12. @KT88 Great story! Thank you for sharing.
  13. I'm thinking about building a Daphne Blue Strat 😃
  14. This comes across as almost a light copper color on my screen, but I love the look of the fretboard. Great looking guitar.
  15. I may be that one exception. To my ear, lower impedance pickups sound more clear. I don't look for anything "underwound", but gravitate to those with impedance values close to the pickups of the 50s and 60s.
  16. I would love to hear Chief Bonehead's thoughts on the notion of a 400 hour break in.
  17. This is most of my collection. With the exception of the Epiphone acoustic on the far right, I've either built or rehabbed them all. I've built about a dozen guitars from parts or kits over the years. Only four are in this picture.
  18. @Marvel One of my bucket list road trips was to go to the Songbirds Guitar Museum in Chattanooga, but I just read that it closed in 2020. I'm bummed.
  19. I'm just a wanna-be collector, but I'm definitely following this thread.
  20. This is a wonderful definition of a friend.
  21. Has anyone considered creating a sticky thread entitled, "What Shall We Argue About Today?" It would be entertaining. 🤣
  22. Thanks, guys. I've added a couple to my library wish list. I'm currently reading "The Lost Girls of Paris" by Pam Jenoff.
  23. Ramble on. My thoughts are with you. I can't help but wonder how life as we've known it might change over the next year or two. I know change is constant, but...
