  1. " Everyone of you seem like stellar people." That's because you haven't met us in person yet ! [] [] Just kidding, it's a fun group, with never a shortage of something to talk about.
  2. No bedroom Ht here, but i can snore at about 70 DB's but it's a re run every night, although it does fill the room with sound !
  3. Nice looking sign, but it should say " Home of the Fini's " Now i really feel old I was born a year after that service station sign !
  4. Glad to hear that, your not 18 anymore leave those twins alone.
  5. Kevin, that pic looks like a party waiting to happen. Put them in your trailer and bring them out to a park somewhere and invite a couple hundred friends, check with the police first ! [H]
  6. The whole family is in our prayers, even the big guy. []
  7. Glad to hear that Glen, hope she has many more with her grandson over the years !
  8. Sent Email also, he probably is off with the twins !
  9. Good advice, I had picked up a pair of forte ll's without listening to them and when I got home and tried them neither had bass and one mid was not working. I felt sick, but then opened them up and removed the connections and nothing. It took cleaning the connections on the bass speaker before it worked, the connections were very tight but still were not making a connection until I cleaned them. Someone told me later use a pencil eraser , it works to clean the terminals ? I would try making sure on the connections to get each driver to work, I have seen them only work slightly when there was not a good connection. Worth a try !
  10. There is a really big difference in the sound of the two you are comparing. If you want to get closer to the AM5 price check out something smaller than the RF-52 it will still sound better than the AM-5! If you could hear them side by side you would be sold, not even close.
  11. What he said, especially this part. " 3) No comparison. Well, I shouldn't say that. They both reproduce sound. That's about the only thing that they share. Klipsch speakers are much more dynamic, much more detailed than almost any other speaker in the same price range. They are also much more efficient and play much louder than other speakers given the same amount of wattage that an amplifier is putting out. Its too bad that you can't perform an A/B test between Bose and Klipsch. You would be shocked at the difference." Also welcome to the forum.
  12. Hope he is OK, might just be busy with the nice weather lately ?
  13. We have been gone for 4 days, glad to hear everyone is OK, as far as we know. Thank God it didn't turn into a cat 4 or cat 5. While we were gone we met an older couple who were from Baytown and left, they said they had a message their home was OK except for a few trees in the yard but everyone was not that lucky.
  14. What about marine radios like installed in boats, they may be a little more moisture resistant, or should be ? Up under the roof would be a dry place to mount a radio, although it would be tough to make it look good, but it would be dry and out of beer range.
  15. Yes, and with any luck it will just turn out to be an inconvenience, and not a major problem.
  16. Looks good and very WAF, the Walnut cabinet looks great. Those in walls sound better than I expected after hearing them in Indy.
  17. [Y] I love the MWM cabinets, a simple but efficient design.
  18. Yes, always ready, but it looks like it may go to Texas ?
  19. Did great Dee, a couple of big container trees fell over and broke there sprinkler water line, but I had them turned off to be safe, thats about it. A week in the Mountains is not exactly roughing it for an evacuation. [Y] Probably this week for Ike we will head to Arkansas, always a nice place to evacuate, we hope to live somewhere close or "on" a Mountain one day, although I think "on" cost more than we could afford after looking at some of the prices this week. When they say million dollar view, they are not kidding ! [:|]
  20. Sorry to be out for a week, we were lucky ! I always thought living on the Gulf Coast was not the best place during Hurricane season BUT one thing for sure Marshall likes to live dangerously. [:|] The Gulf Coast is one thing, but South Florida is like the area where everything either just misses or plows right over.
  21. Just got back home in the last hour, we did not have to be gone so long but we had a nice cabin in the mountains for a week. It worked out well because we just got electricity back 2 days ago, a tree fell on the power line down the street. I have lived in New Orleans, the North shore and now Picayune Mississippi, not much difference when a cat 3 or more is heading this way ! It cost $ and is a pain to evacuate, but after you see with your own eyes what destruction is done, why would you want to stay ? I would drive North and sleep in the car then go back if I never had money for anything else ! We came back two days after Katrina, and sat here for a long 2 weeks with no electricity and made due, and at the same time thinking every day how lucky we were to at least have a house and be alive!
  22. I think he is talking about the speakers that point in both directions on the wall, it's like two speakers in one cabinet so it's not pointed just straight ahead. Some people use to call them sound sprayers.[A]
