  1. To check you out, they don't want to bring just anybody to there city......... also Credit checks, criminal profile, racial profile, religious profile, drug screen, Political affiliation, order magazines in your name , sell names to a mailing list, Identity fraud, fake eBay accounts, acquire fake passports, sell your name to illegal citizens, female impersonators, that " Kathy Mason thing" may have been before you joined the forum though, OR they may just want to make a list ? JUST KIDDING........I HAVE KNOW IDEA REALLY.........just giving you a hard time ! [] am i in trouble ! [A]
  2. " This is a great forum that I've used for a lot of research before managing to grab a pair of '87 Cornwall II's " Good choice of speakers and a good deal, the bad part is now you will be addicted, it may be too late already. Smart move, there is a lot of good advice here, and it's free thanks to Klipsch.[] Welcome to the posting part of the forum, as far as the tweaking part your talking about, I will let others who know better answer that.
  3. Good Idea, if nothing else, Maby let any dealer who will stock Heritage have a little notice in the new announcements section at the top of the forum page ? I wonder if he has ever looked at this forum ?
  4. I have no Idea about the 7.1 , from what I have read it will only be a very limited " at first " , and only on the new HD DVD's. Well with Forte ll's used is the only choice, but all the Heritage are very reliable so if they were not really abused they should be fine. Roc, when you get all your Forte ll's set up and balanced with a DB meter they are going to blow you away, 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 it makes no difference it will sound great. " Do you really think the KG-4s will be OK as side surrounds? " .................... I don't know maby, But I have a feeling you will not want to use them, give it a shot you already have them. Just remember in 7.1 the rear has the same signal as each other and the sides have their own tracks, if I remembered that correctly ? I have my center and the three rears sideways, and raised. The center is on top of an entertainment center I built around a 65" TV, so its about 6' 6" off the floor tilted down slightly. The 3 rear's are about 7' off the ground tilted to the center of the room using heavy metal brackets, like 2 arms holding the speaker sideways. The room is 18' deep and 24' wide, and the horns don't have a problem filling the room while laying down. Even when I get the very rare chance to really crank it up it never sounds strained or like it's having any problem, and the " one " center Forte ll does great. I don't have the best hearing from 35 years of sometimes loud jobs but the voices on movies are great, in the past with other speaker setups I always had a problem sometimes making out what was being said. These 6 Fortes are the best HT and Concert DVD combination I have ever Had, or heard anywhere. Of course I have plans to hear an all La Scalas and an all Klipschorn HT this year so I would bet that I will hear much better, no doubt . You will love it ! { SORRY TO HYJACK THIS THREAD }
  5. Check the setting on the menu on the Pioneer, make sure it's set to send a signal to the sub. If not just leave it on and see if it still shuts down, is the sub new ? Also if the volume is set very low it may not be enough to set off the sub. Just guessing !
  6. Good advice, and 25 WPC don't sound like much but with those speakers it is enough to get loud, with a great sound .
  7. That about sums it up in one paragraph !
  8. " At very loud volumes as I walk around the room it sounds pretty good. My Velodyne sub is 12" 130w sitting in a corner. When I turn the sub off the bass really drops off. So much so that I feel a real loss and must have the sub on. My front speakers are about 13' apart in the center of the 24' wall with the sub in one of the corners " Hate to sound like a jackass but if the bass doesn't really drop off when you turn off the sub if not working ! SORRY couldn't help myself . I listened to many people around here in the last few years about " All matching speakers " and it did seem to make alot of sense. So I took there advice, and now I am one of them. I have no doubt that if you try it you will feel the same way, I have not heard anyone that tried it and never liked it ! I had thought about an Academy, but when I looked at the prices compared to a pair of Forte ll's and the Forte ll's were better , it was a easy choice. Thats the reason I got another Forte ll for a center, It's a perfect match. Like Nike says " just do it " , you will not be sorry. Hate to sound like a broken record, but I am sold 100 % ! [Y]
  9. I really love the wood on that KLF-C7, and the La Scalas look nice also, somebody must want them.
  10. Very nice, sounds like a great time !
  11. Welcome back and good deal ! Ok so I have to ask what is the " A " system , if that is your " B " ?
  12. Indy, you are not kidding, in a restaurant in Cozumel they brought us some chips and salsa with a bowl of Habanero sauce. The homemade chips and salsa were great, then like an Idiot I put some Habanero sauce on a chip to try it. I can say for sure I will never do that again, my mouth was still burning 30 minutes later. Ever sweat from hot sauce ! You could kill someone with that stuff ! [:@]
  13. One Forte ll should be good, I don't know about the parallel thing though. Why not either sell off the extra Forte ll, or even better, look for a couple more pair and sell off the Kg-4's. Or one more pair of Forte ll's for rears and use the Kg-4's for side surrounds. I use 4 Forte ll's for L / C / R and rear Center and original Forte's for L / R rear for 6.1. You will not need 2 of them for a center, you will see / hear ! I can't do 7.1 because of a wood burning heater on one side . What about 6.1 until something is available in 7.1, and you find another pair to match. Just ideas, but you can see where i'm going........If you have the room why settle for less than a perfect match, If you use the Kg's you will later want to change them to Forte ll's anyway, I would bet. All IMHO !
  14. Hmm. Was the wife responsible (as I go running to hide)? the cover would be enough to frighten me off from that one. No way, it was my Nephew . Christy does not rent movies, because she don't watch them 99% of the time, can't sit still long enough ! [] Just wanted to say I think I put on 10 lbs around the Holidays, but it was fun ! You are good ! [].............Many Thanks
  15. Sounds like all good moves to me, especially the last ! [Y]
  16. Well I guess whining about 35 last night and 47 today is out of the question ! Believe it or not we were hoping to get some snow, it happened about 15 years ago. That 1'' almost shut down New Orleans, really, don't laugh, it's true.
  17. Though like I said, a manual drip is my prefered way to make it, a french press is just dandy also. OF COURSE EVERYONE HERE GRINDS THEIR OWN BEANS JUST BEFORE BREWING............... RIGHT? Nope, most of the time, sleeping just before brewing, the last thing I want to hear is a coffee grinder.[:S]
  18. Plain old Community Coffee & Chicory , New Orleans Blend, strong.......... I know "Chicory" most people think it's crazy to add it to coffee but it does have a different taste. It's what I'm used to though, pure coffee taste flat to me, never claimed to be normal ! I use my Grandfathers 90 year old drip pot, it has seen alot of coffee. Although I do like the flavored coffee's.
  19. Well as far as bad, how about Nacho Libre , it was terrible, glad it was not me that rented it.
  20. By far the best move would be to find another Chorus or Forte for the center, keep the front 3 matching. IMHO, It has worked for many here including me ![] Like more and more are saying " There's nothing like a perfect match " , . I know the Academy is good, BUT you will hear a big difference, guaranteed.
  21. If it were me I would not use the others, how many DVD's do you that are 7.1 ? Just guessing there will probably be a big difference in efficiency anyway. I would bet it would sound better in 5.1 with just your new Klipsch than to add the Energy,s. I had heard the set you had, almost bought them when I found Klipsch, your Energy's are not even in the same league as your new ones, you will be shocked, in a good way.
  22. Ob is correct Small. DrWho had a long thread about this months ago, and it made sense. So as much as I didn't want to belive it I tried setting them to small. I use a Yamaha also and was able to put on a concert DVD and put it on a comfortable volume and switch back and forth between large and small quickly. It sounded better set to small and let the sub handle the rest, and this was using 6 Fortes. I think the big difference was with 6 Fortes the bass was not tight it was kind of boomy, some of them were to close to a rear wall, and all were somewhat in corners. Try it for yourself switch back and forth while something is playing and listen for yourself .
  23. dtel...the imagery of your comment simply makes me shudder... [+o(] Exactly !
  24. It's gone, just as well I couldn't stop looking at it ! Not the picture you want a bunch of men thinking of when they are hugging you ![]
  25. The best way to find out how it sounds is to buy one. Since they're so cheap, there isn't a downside. As far as sound quality goes, it may be one of the nicer amps that retail for $30. Almost anything that retails for more will sound better though. I use one for my "Porta-Sound" set-up. Very impressed. I'll disagree with Parrot a little... you have to spend a LOT more than $30 to get better sound. Ten times? Twenty times? But do spend three times more and get the deluxe version if you intend to use it for something other than travel. So when you travel you actually carry alone two Heresys and a amp just for the hotel room? It doubles as a car stereo. Hey that was your car? I stood there for 10 minutes listening at the pilgrimage, it was playing out by the driveway ! It sounded GREAT, better than ANY car speakers I had ever heard. It sounded so good I went and found my wife and made her come listen. wow
