  1. Have no idea where he is but you can bet there will be a story about it when he returns, and we need to harass him for pic's, know what I mean Jay .
  2. My neighbor / best friend done it about 2 years ago. He lost 175 lbs and said it was the best thing he had ever done. The operation was very easy, he said , it did take him a while to get adjusted to eating less but more often. He also had to take vitamins every day which he slacked off after a few months only to find out he would feel very weak, he got back on the vitamins and have had no problems. He is like a different person , he is 12 years older then me 61 and we work together on many things, and It takes everything I have to keep up with him. Before the operation he had bad knee problems to the point he had to get an artificial knee joint and still had problems with it, not anymore you would never know. Good luck and I hope it goes as well for you as it did for him.
  3. I listen to some stations out of New Orleans which one are you talking about, Just interested ?
  4. Happy Birthday picky, have fun foday.
  5. Yes he did, thats why Klipsch hired him to do just that ! No really they did. [8-|]
  6. That could easily explain why when I went from phantom to a real center the whole setup sounded so much better , had no Idea. Now if they could mix the voices to a more reasonable level that would help. On most movies when someone talks at lower than normal level you can barely make out what the are saying. My speakers are all set with a db meter and are the same model Forte ll. If you have the volume set where you can easily hear a voice whisper when some action happens even just a door slamming people jump off the sofa, and if there was an explosion or gunshot people freak. Sometimes I do it on purpose if I know what scene is upcoming , I have actually had tears from laughing when someone actually jumps off the sofa, my wife refuses to watch scary movies period. They keep bringing movies to watch though, must be something to it ![]
  7. Respect is a very good choice for what you have done ! I have started the exercise thats the easy part ! I doubt if I will ever get to the hard part, hard to even say that nasty word " diet ". Good luck to both of you !
  8. If you act quick their are 2 Academy's for sale on the forum right now at very fair prices . Right down the page from this thread !
  9. About 1/3 the weight and not as deep, hope it last many years for you. We had cable and switched to sat, Dish network had the best deal around hear, the most HD channels because the have some of the old Voom channels also but no local HD. The Toshiba does 1080i, not the latest technology but it don't matter, there is so little in HD and not much change coming anytime soon this TV should last till the next big change ? It's a joke, cable has local channels in HD and one or two other channels in HD. Sat has more HD but no local channels in HD, and the other sat company has local channels in Hd but not the Voom channels = less HD. It's all about $ maby before I die everything will be in HD, but then probably a different format than whatever TV I happen to have ! They have no clue as to what people want or just don't care ?
  10. Sounds like it worked out well, we went through almost the same thing, without the huge projector . We had a 32" that was only 3 years old and would cost more to fix than replace with a new one. MY daughter who lives with us said she would buy it because she was tired of me talking about weather to get a rear projection or front projector and another 32" for daily viewing, she wanted a bigger TV also . Went looking and found out they were phasing out the CRT models, after researching and checking others DLP , LCD , Plasma and regular tube TVs the CRT looked good, good reviews and should last a long time from what I read, and no deeper than the 32". It is a Toshiba 65" HD 1080i. $1800 http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/televisions/product.asp?model=65h84 Looked all over and BB had one in stock, so we headed out, got there and they told us it was an open box same warranty and new ! So I figured If new and just an open box no big deal, paid for it and they bring it out to load in the truck and it wrapped in plastic shrink wrap. I thought well I don't need the box I guess it's OK, but let me check to see if everything is with it, no remote no instructions. They find me the remote and tell me just download the Manuel from the site, OK I guess that's fine. Get home and unload it, all 250 pounds and get it in the house. After unwrapping it we find a 6 inch, somewhat tear in cloth looking material across the bottom front. I am not happy but really don't feel like loading this heavy thing back up to return and go thru all of that and trying to find another one , and it is all black cloth at the bottom and hard to see from the where you sit. Go to hook up all the wires and notice a little paper tag taped by the connections, it's a service stub, the TV had been serviced ! So at this point it's starting to get to be a little to much, so we call BB. They look up the serial # and say it was delivered to a lady and she said it was to big and they sent it back ! They said it was not serviced , although it has a tag saying it was . Started calling up the chain of BB and finely got to someone who was willing to tell the truth, took a while. It was delivered to a customer who said it was to big but also had something wrong with it and was serviced . They said we could bring it back or they would lower the price . After thinking about it decided to keep it , not easy to move and it works fine and has a standard warranty, it's a crap shoot anyway and it is working great. Call him back and he says he could give us a gift certificate for $600 lowering the price to $1200, At this point I tell my wife and daughter It's up to you I just wanted a TV , they decide to keep the TV. It was 2 years ago and works great so far, fingers crossed , happy with the picture and hope it last a long time so I don't have to go through this again.
  11. Trey I don't want to be a PITA but did you get My e-mail, It keeps coming back saying delayed will try to send later ? Three times ? Never had that happen before ?
  12. My Forte's and Forte ll's both have them. With no magnet there can you see into the cabinet or do they have a voice coil ? Just asking because they are made like a speaker not like a normal PR . Never seen the back side of one of these.
  13. Now that's a real lawnmower, takes a little getting used to the steering though, they look like fun . An Hour, if that was a regular lawnmower it would take a many hours.
  14. Nice looking yard, looking at that picture you don't cut your own grass ? That's a lot of grass, would take more than a simple lawnmower. The bad part about doing something to catch or stop them is you can't watch all the time, they could later do more damage or move their destructiveness closer to your house . They are just playing now but if they think it's personal they could do more damage. It's hard not to have the urge to set a trap for them though ! I did see this device on the military channel which disables anything electrical, like cars. It stops them dead when they are in a certain range, will not start but battery and other electrical motors still work . The cars are found dead the next day for the police and tow trucks and they would never know what happened !
  15. Wow I can picture it now........... as far as the color match thing I guess it would depend on how you felt that day, some days it may be the purse some days the tool belt ? Just remember keep it simple we wouldn't want the wife or daughters jealous, although don't be surprised if they want to borrow some of your stuff.
  16. Ok now that it's narrowed down to a black t-shirt is that wet or dry ?
  17. It's like a subliminal message, now I have the urge for black t-shirts ?
  18. It's a set collect them all, now where did I hear that ?
  19. Wait till you hear the difference with your new center ![]
  20. Welcome to the forum ! I would think the damage would have to be pretty bad to effect the sound, unless it rattles or vibrates . They should be cheap being damaged that much, check it out .
  21. You mean she was boogying to those teanage speakers, she must be coming around ! Have to check out that music !
  22. That's true it is an investment in the home and is something the wife wants also. Audio is more male thing and somewhat personal. I also left out all the other toys some of these people spend money on. One of the biggest screw ups I seen was a man who spent $100,000 on a home theatre room. When I told him that audio was my Hobie he brought me in to see his room, on the third floor was a 15' x 20' room maxed out, even was sold on the " special acoustic carpet " . The room was very nice , really nice projector, nice leather theatre seats,3 rows, seats about 20. I asked what kind of equipment and speakers the company out of Florida used and he brought me out in the hall to a door behind the screen wall. It was full of everything from line conditioners to very nice amps and some deal that's operates the twinkling and shooting stars on the ceiling, that was very nice effect. Even had a life size doll dressed like Elvis in the last seat in the back right ! I asked about the speakers again, and he said " I don't know what they used " ! I almost fell on the floor, What ! The second most important part after the picture and you don't know what you have ! He says I know where they are but I don't know what brand they are ! He had 3 different brands, none were even mid range in quality and the mains were one brand the center another and the rear was yet another brand ! I was shocked he turned on the projector and then the sound , I was shocked again. The projector was Very nice, he said it was 15K the sound sucked. At the time I had an all Synergy HT and it would Kill the sound he had. I told him nicely I used a set of speakers that cost $1000 for 5 and it sounded better than that and that for the money he had spent his sound should be much better, find a Klipsch dealer !
  23. That sounds like fun ! not work ! Don't think for a second the price is why they are not selling more Heritage ! I see it all the time, the money is there you just need to show them they want your product. We are self employed " landscaping " you would be surprised at the jobs we get . Building beds and planting, plants and trees and Irrigation systems, " not " maintenance or cutting grass. The average job is $2500 to $6000, right now we are on the second Irrigation job out of 3 in a row for 5k,and the only thing that slows us down is getting the service lines marked and the weather. Most of these jobs , the gardens and trees we have to rip out the plants that were only installed a couple of years ago, they just never took care of them or want a different look. This is people that could afford what ever speakers they want if they realize they want them ! On most jobs I get to know the customer fairly well and tour the house and it leads to talking about there home theatre they are building or planing. Guess what brand speakers I talk about ? The job we did just before the pilgramige they knew were going to Hope and even gave me some Local beer " Abita " to bring on the trip. Now he wants us to do his back yard, so I will still have time to sell him on his new speakers he don't know he wants yet.[] This is not a huge market, Slidell La is not a huge city it's a suburbs of New Orleans and the money is there in this small town. Sorry to go on so long but it's not the money it's the the exposure, they need to see " hear " they want it, most never even heard what a good speaker can do ! If I would have never hunted it down I would have never heard it myself, almost no good audio stores left, where can you listen , best buy or C City. Even if they had a good product it don't sound like it setup like that.
  24. E-mail sent...........Thanks Trey and Picky and of course Klipsch!
