  1. Yes i have seen one once in a 100+ year old house house we lived in, we were told it was haunted but i diden't belive it till i seen it myself. But alot of strange things went on in that house while we lived there, So many some friends would not stay after dark.
  2. I think my wife has more than one personaltie depending on what i have done or said ? But we do have differen't forum names, she is real why would i have a different name i don't post enough on my name.
  3. With any luck it's just heartburn,Get well soon Bob!
  4. Edwin said, Hang on. What if... after they're married the kids and their spouses move in with you? Then THEY have kids. Then it starts all over again! OMG! YES VERY TRUE BUT i have to say that it is much easier with grandkids and a LOT more fun. I think it has a lot more to do with me being older and having more patience and time than when my kids were young. Moon I don't know what to tell you because when our kids were young we never did seem to figure out how to keep it in control even somewhat. They would even fight about who sat by the car window or who took a bath first an night. The bad news is wait till they get in the teens ! Like the saying goes "Hire a teen while they still know everything"
  5. Yes i kind of know how you feel , at least i know i'm going in the right direction now. But i also know i'm not done with the speaker part. Super Duper Satisfied , thats words that may come back to bite you IF you have a Wife and you told Her that.
  6. I think Damon said it best, "You are a winner in the game of life! Your post has helped alot of people,I know it has helped answer some of my questions, sometimes your questions bring up many more questions which is a good thing. I was thinking about how many post that really is and it is around 1,111 per year. Now Fini your at about 1260 per year both of you are over 20 per week every week. And to all you others with a good amount of post thanks to all for so much information, and at the very least something to laugh and talk about for the last few years. This is not a hobby most people care about ,it's hard to find someone who really cares about the quality of the sound of music and movies. Most don't care how good the quality is to the point of they don,t even notice when they hear something of good quality. Very sad going thru life never hearing live music and happy listening to a desk radio or a single 4 inch tv speaker Sorry to drag on, Thanks to all for the info and entertainment.
  7. There is nothing wrong with Synergy, the new ones are much better then the older . When you get them home you will be shocked what they sound like, you can't even compare it to what they sound like in the store even it is set up correctly in the store. Wires, i would go with the #14 that will be plenty enough, and i would bet money you can not hear a difference from #14 to #12 to a $500 wire. Some say they can hear a difference with very $ wires, but even if they do it would such a small difference in sound, there would be some place the money could be spent for much bigger improvements. IMHO Very nice setup for " in college and 22", much better than the average person at any age and income, or any HTIB.
  8. Thanks for the post, This is about the 10th thread like this and is still not enough thanks for all they have done. In home theater is this small thread. Glad to be back!! by dantfmly

  10. Military, if so thanks, what , where?
  11. Yes i watch that show, and i seen the one at Waverly. Out of all the places Ghost Hunters went to that was about the only one i might have been to happy to be in. They said 63,000 people died there, most from TB. If they let you bring a video camera, you never know?
  12. Where did the spell check go? I tend to spell things the way they sound ,on a good day.
  13. Thanks I have been wearing protection with anything loud need the old ears for music can't waist what i have left. One day i will have them checked, the problem i have is just like on the hearing aid commerical ,ha that should be a clue i have a problem! No, i can hear really good if there is no backround noise, just like on the commerical when the couple are in a noisy restaurant all the sounds just blend in and it's hard to pick out what one person is saying. I have to say it helped when the kids were little and were fighting with each other ,just tune them out, 3 girls.
  14. Very nice car and color ,I have never driven one ,has to be fun. Speaking of that pole you might want to wrap that sucker with some real soft padding, If the door hits it you will cry, i would.
  15. Does anyone have that chart that says how many decibels it takes to cause hearing damage. I am told i am half deaf and it is true i know, but after Katrina my mother lives with us and she don't complain but she does think my hearing damage is from music, and it is not. I worked in a shipyard for years in my 20's as a shipfitter an that was much louder than anything including my share of concerts over the years, and i know that is where most of the damage came from. Back then it was a big deal to wear hard hats, safety glasses, steel toe boots, but nothing about for the ears. Hey i was in my 20's i diden't even think about it, and safety dept's were not to sharp 25 years ago compared to today. My friends think i'm nuts for now wearing those headfone looking ear protectors when cutting grass or with the weed eater, trying to save what i have left. You know everything when you are in your teens and 20's ,or just don't care. I'm sure music did some damage but i'm sure most of the damage came from jobs over the years and i just wanted to prove that 50 or 60 db of music for less than an hour many times alot less than an hour is not the main cause for hearing problems. I had seen it hear before but can't find it. Thanks
  16. There is no way i could wait like you, i would have to at least hook them up to something you have more patience than me. I bet they look good though with that cherry wood and a perfect finish.
  17. It turns out i should have put my question about the forum clock in Dumass mistakes.

    Derailed

Yes that was a hard scene to watch but if you could have got past that scene , it was not what it looked like that scene also had a twist you couldent see at that point. What you seen in that hotel scene was not at all what they made it out to be in the end Very different, Hard to explain without giving it away.
  19. Just thought of my best dumass mistake Bought a piece of land ,11 acres and split it 5.5 acres each with my {good} friend and never used a lawyer. After paying a couple of years of payments to get it paid for ,turns out his wife spent the money we paid. He diden't say anything in the 2 years about no payments? nothing. Went to court with receipts and the judge said " he wanted to make an example of us for not going thru a lawyer, this kind of thing clogs up the courts". So we had 30 days to come up with the cash to buy our half or just end up with lein on the property. We came up with the money and used a lawer to get it done by the book, a few weeks later the other couple got a divorce and we still don't talk to them. That dumass mistake cost me the most of all my dumass mistakes. USE A LAWYER
  20. Went back and still don't see it, your eyes are better than mine!
  21. Ok i have many dumass mistakes just need to think of some. This was not my mistake but Along time ago i worked for an electrical contractor and we were pulling wire in a chemical plant . We got to a point where we had to go thru about 400 feet of 3" conduit . so we had to shoot a bird [small roll of string made to blow thru conduit] ,you tie the end of the string off to something and blow it thru the pipe, and then tie a larger rope to the end and pull it thru, that is the rope you tie to the cable to pull it thru the pipe. Ok i get in a bucket truck an lift myself up on the pole 20' where the pipe ends, and the other guy gets on the other end of the pipe with a bottle of compressed air to blow the bird thru. I am up there with my ear on the side of the pipe listening to hear if the bird was coming, that was the last thing i heard. a while later i heard rocks hitting the bucket i was in. They were throwing rocks at the bucket, they thought i fell asleep up there. After i came down with a bad headache we figured out what happend . He had used a bottle of oxygen to blow the bird thru and i had passed out for a few minutes from the pure oxygen. We were very lucky ,it could have blew the whole conduit up from underground and maby the chemical plant we were in. More to come.
  22. "I caint seem to think of very many dumb mistakes I've made, the only one that I know is I got married. Jim" I take it your wife don't read on the forum .
  23. I don't know about Cornwall's but i didn't think the wires connected at the top of the speaker or the had risers, could be wrong on both, also looks like the mid driver is far from the bass driver ?
  24. It's not really a clock, just when you post a new topic it says the time posted. I SCREWED UP a while back when i was looking at my profile i must have hit the line that says what time zone/country , i had it set up to London time by accident. I just noticed when i came back to look for replies i did not log in and the time was correct, so i log in to reply and the time was now 5 hours off. I may be slow but i will this new computer thing sooner or later .
