colterphoto1
ok, ok- working on it....here's the rough cut, crud that's 15- I only get EIGHT? crimmeny this is tough. If running time is not an issue I'm bound to take the more panoramic ventures. Let me attack it by category so there's a number from each important phase of their career development.... Achilles' Last Stand (Page/Plant) Custard Pie (Page/Plant) Dancing Days (Page/Plant) Dazed And Confused (Holmes/Page) Heartbreaker (Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham) In The Evening (Jones/Page/Plant) Kashmir (Bonham/Page/Plant) Misty Mountain Hop (Page/Plant/Jones) No Quarter (Jones/Page/Plant) Ramble On (Page/Plant) Rock And Roll (Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham) Since I've Been Loving You (Page/Plant/Jones) The Battle Of Evermore (Page/Plant) The Song Remains The Same (Page/Plant) The Wanton Song (Page/Plant)
colterphoto1
ok, if I only get eight and am trying to get my faves, I want at least one of every important 'style' in the catalog So you've got to have one of each: classic FM rocker solid blues number acoustic escapade story of mystery and adventure (Tolkein) something from the movie SRTS a sweeping majestic piece something with incredible beat, a real romp a late career piece with JPJ conducting geesh, that's my eight. colterphoto1
ok, now I've got some of my faves and list of what needs covered, let's play mix and match, mmmk? First of all- NO STAIRWAY, geesh enough already. classic FM rocker, this opened a lot of shows so the band must have liked it too 1. Rock And Roll (Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham) solid blues number 2. Since I've Been Loving You (Page/Plant/Jones) Live sound check version acoustic escapade with multiple guitar parts, also tale of mystery and adventure (Tolkein) 3. The Battle Of Evermore (Page/Plant) something from the movie SRTS, just because of the visual reference 4. The Song Remains The Same (Page/Plant) Live version please a sweeping majestic piece-ok, two of these because I like em so much- these should be no-brainers. 5. Kashmir (Bonham/Page/Plant) 6. No Quarter (Jones/Page/Plant) SRTS live version- did I mention that I saw the Zeppelin in 77- got maced at the show a real romp with sense of humour, something with ridiculous drumming 7. The Wanton Song (Page/Plant) from my fave album Phys Graf- I have a gold record of it in my office a late career piece with JPJ conducting 8. Achilles' Last Stand (Page/Plant)- always like JP's chugging bass, Percy singing from a stool, epic proportions of this 'return to greatness' How'd I do? Hey Hey What Can I Do The Song Remains The Same and #8.... Gallows Pole or Moby Dick.... I can't choose... In reality, this list could be substituted for any eight songs of theirs. They're all just that good.
