greg928gts
Oh sure, just when I'm about to visit Miami for some R&R, things start acting up. Greg

Groomlakearea51
Still quiet today..... Calm before the storm...?
ace168516
Greg...if you get down to Miami and are looking for a good meal and some good atmosphere, go to Smith and Wollensky...best steakhouse I have ever been to and right on the port...if you hit it up and Fridays you can see all the cruise lines leaving port...pretty cool from about 100 feet off the patio. Good food, a bit pricey (but you are in Miami) and pretty casual too...I have been there in jeans and a t-shirt and no one looks at you like you are stupid and they make good stiff drinks
Groomlakearea51
Still quiet. But then again, the southeast is getting massive rains which by all accounts are causing about as much damage as hurricanes..... If we can just get into October without a tropical storm, the statistical odds drop down to a much more acceptable level.
Groomlakearea51
Nothing again today; there's a possible system off the African coast, but they don't give it much chance at the moment. look at the map and put the mouse over the yellow circle: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Groomlakearea51
Apparently when I paste the NHC graphics into the post, it updates all previous posts with the link to the graphic. So if you are looking at any of the NHC graphics it will always show the latest "picture".
Mr. RF62
Look as if Henri is to die out. Not out of the woods yet???
Moderators dtel Posted October 7, 2009 Moderators Share Posted October 7, 2009 This has been a good year for Hurricanes. [Y]
Groomlakearea51
That would be an understatement..... What with the very hot summer, I'm surprised that we did not get hit.
Groomlakearea51
Well Henri fizzled, but folks in the Gulf really should watch this system as it could very well turn back into a tropical storm. Regardless of what the NWS says, it's happened before. Case in point was that the NHC said it would not likely develop at all, and "voila".... it did so on Sunday faster than a New York minute... BigStewMan
My only hurricane experience was back in mid-80s--Hurricane Gloria. I was at a Coast Guard training school in Norfolk, VA. The place was built like a fortress and I slept through the hurricane.
CECAA850
It looks like there's a couple more disturbances out there. Don't they know it's late October?
Mr. RF62
So November 7th, and IDA is roaming around, whats up with that?
Moderators dtel Posted November 8, 2009 Moderators Share Posted November 8, 2009 So November 7th, and IDA is roaming around, whats up with that? I thought it was over [:|] now were under a Hurricane watch, with 50 mph winds tomorrow. Although 50 mph is not bad at all compared to 140 sustained a few years ago. Watch the freaking roof blow off at 50, I will be bent out of shape ! [8o|]
cluless
So DTEL.... Did you think the Mother of all Mothers (Nature) would cut you any slack? All of the South Mississippi Katrina survivors that I know are still struggling. Sending happy thoughts your way!

How have you been doing, it's nice to see you around, I have to go tell Christy.
