Hello, my first post here. I was introduced to Klipsch speakers in the early 80s by my Uncle, he had a pair of Heresy I. I have always wanted a pair of these legendary speakers but just could'nt afford them. Then my luck changed the day I went in to a local pawn shop and saw these "BAD BOYS" sitting on a cart next to the counter. The manager just rolled them out of the back to be put on the floor for sale. He had a price of 69.99 for the pair. I asked him if he could do any better that that and he said I just rolled them from the back, thats the best price. So then I said how about 69.99 out the door? He said OK. The total ended up being 70.01 for the set. I could not believe what I just bought. I am sooooo stoked, as soon as I got home I hooked them up and of course the work perfectly.

Just wondering what the other numbers mean that are below the serial number.

Just wanted to share my story with some people who know about the Legendary Klipsch speaker.

The first set refer to a production line code that still eludes deciphering..... The second set indicates when the order was started (3 February) and the cabinets were assembled on 27 February. Drivers installed, inspected and tested etc., in May, by the serial number 8915737 in which the 15 indicates the week of the year.

Thanks for the info and the complements. They sound great as they should. I have them hooked up to a Technics SA-202 1980 vintage that was bought for me when I was 13 or so. That reciever drives them very well. I had them hooked up to a more modern Kenwood system and it did'nt sound as good as the Technics did.

I noticed the same thing when I hooked up my Klipschorns to a late model budget receiver. They sounded hollow and lacked the sound I had last left them with. It was only after I retrieved my old 70's vintage Sansui from storage and reunited them that I was glad I had lugged the KHorns around all these years.
