This has been rumored for a while now, health reason; health of football team. College coaches and politicians are not the folks that I would have my kids look up to for lessons in integerity.

If it is truly his health then hope all turns out well.

Florida

coach Urban Meyer, who was admitted to a hospital because of chest

pains following the Southeastern Conference championship game, is

stepping down because of health concerns.

"There was no heart

damage," Meyer told the New York Times, referring to the night he was

admitted to the hospital. "But I didn't want there to be a bad day

where there were three kids sitting around wondering what to do next.

It was the pattern of what I was doing and how I was doing it. It was

self-destructive."

No, Urban Farve is back in now.

I miss the days when QB's (and the coach) didn't sport skirts or face mask's.

Grow a pair, suck it up and play the game as it was intended. "strong enough to stand the strain, man enough to stand the pain".

This game is not for everyone. If you can't handle it, don't play or coach.

'Gators quarterback Tim Tampon said he and several of his teammates cried when they found out Meyer was stepping down Saturday'

'In 2005, his first season at Florida, he could barely croak out any words after the Gators lost at Alabama 31-3. His attempts to analyze what happened were useless.'

'After Florida lost to LSU 21-17 in its next game, he choked up as he tried to answer the first question, starting and then stopping for about 20 seconds as he tried to compose himself, leading to references as "Urban Crier."

Either one of these guys will make someone a good wife.

Sad news, I was horrified when I found out. I just hope this was not a planned event as Charlie Strong is already on his way out...with Urban leaving and his most likely internal successor already taking another job it is a sad time indeed. Luckily as with all other things, the gator nation will live on. I am sure Florida can pull about anyone they want to into the job...just keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get another short Ron Zook era.
