I had this Sony in high school. The tuner, equalizer, and tape deck were all individual components, and the speakers could be detached.

I think the only thing that sounds cooler is "funkengruven" I'm sure it's spelled wrong but it's been a while since I've seen it...Usually on a veedub.

JC also has the break dancing mats. Blasters and mats were standard trunk material.

And no kidding........that's a Telefunken blaster. Pretty cool.

Infact.....here is the one I used. Lasonic was known in the early 80's for there jamboxes getting very loud. I went through two of these. Yes....I would pull this thing out of a trunk of a car in front of Pizza Hut on a saturday night. No Sh%$. Management really never had an issue with the idea....which is a real surprise.

Lasonic is making a comeback with a reissue and an iPod dock.

Good to see a value put to it, but it aint gonna be for sale any time soon. We got it through my wifes dad (RIP), and I know it's a very well built unit.

He was a big ole German lad and had pretty good taste in his equipment. We used to crank it up while sailing with him.

Here was mine, a Panasonic RX5080. I think every boombox I had was a Panny. Not the best out there but keep in mind, with 10-D batteries I was carrying this thing while riding a skateboard till I got a car when I was 20.
