He is looking good there!!! How is his personality coming along??

He has an awesome disposition. Extremely playfull still. He's also very smart. It took exactly 2 days to teach him how to bring the paper. He's also the best dog I've ever had on a leash. The tone in his bark has finally lowered and we've gotten to hear a couple of his "stay away" barks, it took us by surprise the first time we heard it. He'll make you take notice.

Thanks. I don't know what it is about the little one though. We were hoping the big dog would teach the little one the ropes but just the opposite has happened. Axle is now digging and pulling up grass, which is something he never did till the new addition started doing it. They're a hoot to watch play though and get along famously.

No doubt in my mind that pooch doesn't like big guys on crutches. Carl assured us he's a sweetheart.

Okay, Carl. I must admit he has a funny way of showing his love... [^o)]

I suspect many would get the same impression from my German Sheperd, who sounds like death approaching when anything approaches our back fence. However, she then throws herself at anything that comes through the gate in a frenzy of pure love.

OTOH, I've had few cable guys or other sorts who were wllling to test that love without an escort.

I like it that way...benefits of deterence with no risk to anyone.

When Jeff (J L Sargent) came over last weekend, I had both of the dogs in their crates. Axel was sounding off (as usual) but Jeff wanted to see him. I let him out and Axle was all over him (in a good, friendly way). I don't know what would happen if I weren't there telling him that all is well though

I have to admit that even when he has his ears back in that "I'm a good dog, love me" mode, he still can look a tad menacing. He is a big sweetie though.
