sean5340
After 22 years with the same oilfield service company I have resigned and taken a new job. There were several sleepless nights while pondering this decision and my wife was near a breakdown. After almost three weeks I could not be happier. This is the best job I could have hoped for. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. I now work mostly from home and the choice is mine whether I go offshore or not. Not bad aye? CECAA850
I'd think that turning a hobby into a career would pretty much take all the fun out of it. I'll pass.

sean5340
Thanks everybody for the votes of confidence. If ya'll know any young people that are struggling to find decent work the oilfield is booming right now. Land oilfield is in full swing in Texas, Louisiana and Pennsylvania. These markets were very weak a couple of years ago. Gulf of Mexico is doing OK but loosing a lot of personnel to land. There are opportunities for hard working folks. Mighty Favog
I'd think that turning a hobby into a career would pretty much take all the fun out of it. I'll pass. As odd as it sounds I "retired" from professional skateboarding in high school just for that reason.
