Scrappydue
Always better to have more bass than not enough. Can turn down if too much bass. You're stuck with not enough bass.Always easy to add more subs though lol. (We are ridiculous)
Islander
Have you taken a look at Paradigm subs? They have a range of models and prices, from basic to the SUB 2, with six 10" drivers and a 4500 watt RMS amp. That one is a bit pricy, of course, but companies that build high-end models like that learn a lot of good engineering that shows up in the less expensive models as well. Paradigm is known for good sound and good value.
K5SS
Dual Rythmik FV15HP. They play deeper and use less power than the SVS. Like mentioned earlier, throw PSA into the mix. The price/performance of PSA subs is up on the Rythmik and SVS levels. Like Scrappy mentioned, the Captivator is the best performing sub mentioned in this thread but duals would blow your budget out of the water. Buying new subs is the most fun part of assembling a HT. Enjoy the process. You pretty much can't go wrong with any on the subs mentioned in this thread.
SuBXeRo
I have two main reasons to get dual subs and they are room response and the robust ability to have more options for placement and still achieve a good sound. With dual emo ultra sub12's i have very pleased. They had a ton of output but lacked the ability to dig into the deep end. I am also not opposed to passive subs. In fact, if this hobby has taught me anything, the more things are broken up, the easier they are to upgrade and repair to be most cost effective. When it comes to the big audio chains, i feel like subs are the money pit with them and cant justify buying from them. Speakers are a different story though. Scrappydue
So you can google a repeat customer code for the svs subs. It's like repeat cust-107 or something. So you add two PC-13 ultras in your Cart and put in that code and your final price will be 3039$ that would be what I would do in your situation. Only going over by few bucks. SuBXeRo
I was thinking dual Rythmik F25. I know they recommend the FV15HP for HT but was thinking the F25 might be crisper sounding and has only slightly less output than the FV15HP. In the end though, i think either would be a great option, just not sure which is..better
K5SS
After I received my FV15HP, they offered a special on the F25. I would have loved to order the F25 but I am space limited. Dual F25's would be awesome!
SuBXeRo
i may just go dual FV15HP just because they are a bit cheaper and i still have to pay shipping which is ridiculous on them.
Scrappydue
svs has the no hassle 45 day in home trial. no pay return shipping LOL
Heritage_Head
i may just go dual FV15HP just because they are a bit cheaper and i still have to pay shipping which is ridiculous on them. You have to pay shipping on the rythmik? (svs is free shipping now both ways)
Vital
If I was buying a new sub right now and I had your budget, I think I would have to go with Seaton Submersive. The dual opposing 15's in a sealed box with 2400 watts of power, it is probably the cleanest, hardest hitting sub out there without being a gigantic sub like the JTR Captivator. SuBXeRo
yes, its not included and about 140 for each sub to arizona. I think SVS is a great company, they are established and have a very friendly customer service team and a great warranty along with quality products. I am just o so very torn. K5SS
I really don't see how having to pay for shipping plays into the equation. Shipping is either built into the price (SVS) or it isn't (Rythmik). Call Brian (owner of Rythmik) and see of he can get you a better deal on shipping for duals, I know he offers a discount on purchasing duals, just not sure on shipping. Everyone will stand by products that they have purchased, I am no different.
SuBXeRo
my only concern with rythmik is quality of construction for enclosure, driver and amp. The warranty isnt as stellar as SVS is on the amp either.
Scrappydue
I'm a very firm believer in you get what you pay for. Better warranty for sure. Price including shipping makes me a bit higher. Cylinders are awesome looking. Small footprint that way. Driver alone weighs 60 lbs. they are solid tank built subs. The guys at svs will pretty much tell you you can tear em up. They stand behind their products. So much so they offer the 45 day no hassle thing. That's how's my people buy em and are happy with them. K5SS
I am also a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and what you get with Rythmik is a better performing subwoofer for less money. I bought the Rythmik based on performance and performance only, not becaust of the price or the warranty. Everyone is different though. If I was to buy a new subwoofer today, I would order dual PSA XV30f's. Check em' out.

Mongo171
Bill Bill, you just HAD TO show sub porn, didn't you?!?! SuBXeRo, if you are interested in passive subs, you can always get the SVS Legato. Dual Passive PC12-Plus subs with an external amp. $2299.00. Well within your budget. Try them for 45 days. Don't like them, send them back. Again, no shipping costs. derrickdj1
For a 2400 watts sub, the typical 15 amp outlet can only put out 1800 watts. Unless you put a 20 amp circuit in you will never use all those watts without shutting down the house, lol.[^o)].
