Electricmanscott
As the title says I currently have an RC64II center, about a year now. Just finished theater upgrade, new projector and screen, so I have space to accommodate new L and R speakers. RF7II might be a little taxing for my wallet so I'm thinking maybe rf82ii of find some rf 83. Mostly movie use in 17x12 room seated about 12 feet away, speakers behind AT screen. Thoughts? Side note, I also have an rc52II brand new in box if anyone is looking for one. Shoot me a pm
Moderators Youthman Posted December 26, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 26, 2013 RF7 or RF83 both have worked with fantastic results in my 13' x 19' room
BlackGTS
If you can find a pair of 83's close by they should be easier on the wallet and well worth the price. Try to listen to both if possible. Ron
Sancho Panza
Saw a pair of 82II on Memphis Craig's Lust ;-) for $

I saw that listing and it's definitely a serious consideration. I'm a little skeptical though as I think those have been listed there for a very long time. Shodrewken
If you buy new, give Mike from acoustic sound design a call. He'll give you a great deal on new Klipsch speakers like rf-82 ii's. www.acousticsounddesign.com

derrickdj1
Get some RF 83, RF 7's or RF 63's and be done with it . Save a ton of cash compared to new and great sound to boot!
Electricmanscott
Ok so I;m going 83's, there's a pair in the garage sale area or 7IIs. Bstock ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370969850010 Won't be able to listen to both. Not going to waste a dealers time knowing I'm not buying from them. So Knowing that I have a RC64II and love it, which way would YOU go? They are replacing a pair of 13 year old Cambridge Soundworks Tower IIs
Moderators Youthman Posted December 26, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 26, 2013 The RF7ii are a better match but they are $1900 each. Not sure how much the 83's are listed for but you can find RF83s less than $1400, sometimes MUCH less than that.
derrickdj1
Depending on your avr, the timber issue may not be a problem. I use an RC 64 and not the RC 7 with my RF 7's and have no timber isses. Some autocalibration programs with good EQ do a great job.
Heritage_Head
Those rf-7ii are for the pair not each (read the title). And your rc-64ii is voice matched to the rf-7ii and will be a perfect match. It will cost you more but its what you want for that center. You have spent so much already why skimp on 500 now and not get the matching speakers. If you had the old rc-64 then i would say get the 83 or 63s. Schu
I'd wait and get the 7ii's for about 1800-1900 for the pair... which is why I wanted to know what you were already listening to

Don't skimp. You've waited 13 years to upgrade. What's another couple weeks of saving a few hundred more.
