Porn_Star
basically they dont sound as good as i want. there seems to be some sort of port noise. i have 2 of them on a hk 1710, both ports were loose and i reattached them. klipsch really dropped the ball on these subs! i also have a single ksw15 if i remember right. thinking about selling them all and getting a different sub or subs, what do you all recomend? any way to make the rw12-d sound better? willland
If my opinion counts, the RW-12d(RW-10d) is not the most musical sub out there. Good for HT, not so good for tight, fast, and punchy bass. Truthfully, your RF-7II rig deserves better subwooferage. Do you have a budget in mind? How large is your room in ft3? Is your main system more for music or HT? Honestly my budget is what i can get out of the subs i currently have. How large is your room in ft3? I will have to check it out when i get home after work. it is a pretty dang small room though. Is your main system more for music or HT? A good mixture of both. But in the end, i love bass. Bill and by love bass thats pretty much an understatement. i used to have 156 db system in my truck back when i had money to blow on that type of stuff. Diy will offer most bang for your buck. If you can accommodate a huge sub then a horn sub is the cheapest way to go with maximum performance. As you can see I have quad 18's in my room I built and I love them. I got about 2300 wrapped up in that setup. I also have a Klipsch cinema sub that is awesome, and they can be bought new for around 1400 then you gotta buy an amp too. Used is another option. I'd say it really depends how low you need it to go. If you don't crazy low maybe a pair of pa-150's from acoustic sound design. If you want higher quality a single Svs PB-2000, psa xv-15, hsu vtf-15h. All around the same price and great quality subs. Otherwise diy rules it all. And very easy. derrickdj1
List a budget and total room size and more recommendation will follow. I owned the PA 150 and it was a nice sub. Looks good too.
K5SS
I got my RW-12D Saturday. I can genuinely say that this is the first Klipsch speaker that has ever let me down. The bass is way too boomy for my liking. I got a killer deal off eBay so this experiment didn't cost me that much and I already have it listed on craigslist. This Reference 12" isn't in the same league as the older RSW-10 that I made the mistake of selling about a year ago.
John Chi-town
Take a look at the SVS Website. One of the best overall line of Subs on the market today, and reasonably priced. They will let you test drive for 45 days as well. Best regards, John
John Chi-town
Following are the (3) Subs from SVS that will match your RF7 II the best: http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/ported-box/PB13-Ultra http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/cylinder/pc13-ultra http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/sealed-box/SB13-Ultra Best regards, John

Many here will ONLY have Klipsch speakers and NEVER have a Klipsch sub.
jason str
Klipsch makes lots of good stuff, never heard a Klipsch sub i liked. I would like to hear the new horn sub to compare to other models.
K5SS
Good thing Klipsch resale is so good. I am probably going to try out a reaction sub next. I have basically tried all of the ID companies like SVS and HSU. I am addicted to buying subwoofers though, definitely my favorite piece of audio equipment to buy, we'll that and receivers;)

K5SS
Very true. I would hate to spend $1k+ on a sub, have the amp go out and have no support. The owner sounds like a great guy though so I hope he can make it work.
CECAA850
The owner sounds like a great guy though I've spoken to the owner of Epik (Chad) on several occasions when he owned Ascendant Audio (which also went belly up). He's an awesome guy that's passionate about subwoofers and bass reproduction. He obviously has little business sense though. Both companies produced awesome products and had all the sales they needed to succeed. They both had a rabid following.

If you don't like the sound of two RW-12d's in your system, what makes you think you will like three? I am not trying to be a butt head but if you are considering a third one for your rig, you may be adding to the "problem". Bill

I'd build my own before dropping 900 on that large one. Drivers in the pic look insanely wimpy on the backside.

willland
Trying to get an idea how much mine are worth? Sorry, I did not think of that. If I had to guess, $250.00 to $325.00 seems to be about the range. Remember, New Egg was liquidating them for less than $350.00 quite a few times over the last 18 months.
