WTB K-55 drivers

Aren't the M's a tad better than the V's?

Max2,

The K-55M is hotter than the K-55V, but the K-55V is preferred, especially the solder terminal K-55V as they have the phase plug in them. You can also rebuild the K-55V but you cannot rebuild the K-55M. I have plenty of all three kinds of K-55 drivers, my TSCMs have 4 K-55 drivers per top hat, so that is 28 K-55 drivers with my 7 TSCMs.

Hi Roger - all three versions of the driver have phase plugs. The "M" is basically just the EV version of the solder lugged, or dual phase plug version of the K-55-V (from a performance perspective). The "M" is about 1.5dB more sensitive, but over a very limited range.

Thanks Dean,

I knew the part about the two piece phase plug, on the solder terminal K-55V but had forgotten about it. I still don't believe that they offer diaphrams for the K-55M though as they do for the K-55V, both versions.
