1200KV MGE/Topaz Isolation transformer set up for HIFi use.

The isolation transformer provides a consistent ground for all your audio.

Large enough for big power amps.

Set up with 2 Medical grade 15A plugs and an IEC input. Includes power switch/fuse and indicator LED.

We took a stock industrial isolation transformer and converted it to one suitable for Hifi.

Asking $300

Filtering... If you have a crappy gound in your house or some componets use a ground and others dont... It generates a universal ground.

With SETs and Horns sometimes ground issues come up... this is an old school solution. And yes its crazzy heavy ~30lbs. I have a 5kv hard wired into my home... goes 240v 20amp to 120v 40amp... super clearn low noise... but its ~100lbs. Dems are 12x10X8 about...

Here is a expert from wikipedia. "An isolation transformer is a transformer used to transfer electrical power from a source of alternating current (AC) power to some equipment or device while isolating the powered device from the power source, usually for safety reasons. Isolation transformers provide galvanic isolation and are used to protect against electric shock, to suppress electrical noise in sensitive devices, or to transfer power between two circuits which must not be connected. A transformer sold for isolation is often built with special insulation between primary and secondary, and is specified to withstand a high voltage between windings.

Isolation transformers block transmission of the DC component in signals from one circuit to the other, but allow AC components in signals to pass. Transformers that have a ratio of 1 to 1 between the primary and secondary windings are often used to protect secondary circuits and individuals from electrical shocks. Suitably designed isolation transformers block interference caused by ground loops. Isolation transformers with electrostatic shields are used for power supplies for sensitive equipment such as computers or laboratory instruments."

The short of it is... that it blocks the ground coming in and uses 2 windings to create its own ground... All grounds tied to it become unified and should be striped of any ground loop issues. They are super common in industrial applications. Bryston and a few other companies make "surge/power cleaners" which are largely isolation transformers with common mode and differential mode filters and charge $2000. If you take the isolation transformer and then add a surge protector from emotive (has a common mode and differential mode filter built in) you will have the bryston unit to a T.

It weighs about 5 lbs. less than a JBL 2446J midrange 2" Horn driver.
