babadono
YUM, YUM. Thanks for the memories MG, I haven't had rhubarb anything since I left Michigan 35 years ago.
CECAA850
I haven't had it since I was little. Those look great! We grew Rhubarb behind our house and my mother would use what we grew to make pies. The pies were deliccious so I thought that the Rhubarb would be great to eat fresh. WRONG.

muel
Rhubarb... a strawberry pie ruined! Actually, my sister makes a really good strawberry rhubarb desert but I think she must use around a pound of sugar.
mustang guy
There is better than a cup of sugar in each pie. We will be eating these after dinner. Unfortunately, dinner is running a bit late this evening. I honestly don't know if I have the willpower.
babadono
so did you make 'til after dinner? Waiting 'til after dinner explains the 4 hours. Cuz before I'm like why does he have to wait 4 hours? Put enough ice cream on it, that'll cool it down.

Paducah Home Theater
If anybody likes stuff like this, you should come see me in about a month. I have an entire orchard of mirabelle plums, which you can't just get anywhere. Most grow in France and due to some weird import/export laws they are banned. Tarts are supposed to be awesome with them. We just make jam and can them, although I might try to make some homemade wine this year. mustang guy
Update... I LOVE this pie. This is the first pie I have ever made, and it's the first Strawberry/rhubarb pie I have ever had. When I was eating it, I recognized it as a familiar taste. It finally donned on me what it was like. Sweet tarts! When I got home this evening, the first thing I did was head to the pie.
