artto
I see some of you have an animated avatar. How do you upload these? What kind of file type is it? Can I simply copy and paste one that I see on another website?
Tarheel
Good question. Just heard on CNBC that FB is going to make it possible to do that on their site. I think minermark and muel have animated ones from time to time. Maybe they'll respond.
Coytee
I don't know the answer for sure but I think they are "GIF" files?

CECAA850
Copy the GIF to where you normally put your picture. Normally right click the gif and then click properties. Copy and paste that. It will end in "gif" Edited October 2, 2015 by CECAA850

artto
Copy the GIF to where you normally put your picture. Normally right click the gif and then click properties. Copy and paste that. It will end in "gif" that doesn't work. I don't see "properties" when I right click on the gif Edited October 2, 2015 by artto
Schu
Ahem... you need to either "create" the gif, or use one that has been "created" by someone else. Still photo's can not animate themselves. usually it is done by using very short snippets of video content and converting it in programs such as Photoshop so that it is more of a series of still images instead of a moving image. once that is done, it reacts just like any other jpeg or still picture when posting. derrickdj1
Find a gif that you like. Right click the gif and save. This should save the image and not the url. Now you can change the pic in your avatar or insert it in a thread. Edited October 2, 2015 by derrickdj1
