Same with solid state; not tube specific but "line stage" is a preamp not having phono stage. There are 2 different phono stages as well; MM / HOMC and MC . Moving magnet / High Ouput Moving Coil and /or the Moving Coil. If you have a line stage and want to add a turntable you would have to replace the preamp or buy an external phono stage suitable for the cartridge in use.

Are you interested in DIY, or something that works right out of the box?

A lot of folks like the line stage idea, even if they do play LPs, that way they could upgrade the phono preamp any time.  Juicy Music Blueberry Xtreme II would be a good one to look for.

That is an excellent suggestion Carl.

What speakers will these be powering?

What are your main sources?  CD?  Streaming from Computer, Digital files?

Speakers are a pair of khorns,  With a pair  120 watt Dynaco MK VI tube amps, mainly playing cd and lps

You will never use more than 10 watts on those Khorns.
