Grizzog
I'm very happy with these. Surprisingly, they sound very different than the fortes. The fortes are more intimate and laid back. These are more forward and live sounding. The bass they have is addicting. In my setup, it is extremely tight and accurate. I'm addicted to listening to upright bass on these. ...they seem to have tighter bass than my 19s - not as deep, but tighter.
jjptkd
Yes, the Chorus II is one of the very best Klipsch speakers ever made in my opinion. Looks like you landed a beautiful pair too, congrats!

The Altec 19 were pitted against the EV Sentry III and the Khorn. 15" bass and large horns.

All drivers look great, no pushed in dust caps, and the cabinets are probably some of the best I've seen for the Chorus. I couldn't pass these up even though I just got the fortes recently. They certainly wouldn't displace my 19s, but I sure do like them. It wouldn't be a fair head-to-head. I am, however, having trouble deciding which pair of Klipsch I like best. I had seller's remorse after selling my first pair of Chorus II. I have 2 pair right now and they aren't my favorite, BUT the do have a place. Not difficult for you to re tune your passive radiator(s) to achieve a lower resonant frequency if you want to have lower system bass response. moray james.
jimjimbo
Moray knows the simple way to do that, but he's going to make you search for it.....
