klipschorn enclosed backs

i think i want to make my first set the way Mr. Paul made the tailboards with cutouts at the bottom for baseboards about 6" up because i still want them tucked in the corners.

any thoughts on this

the tailboards are 1/2 thick

Somewhere I think there is at least one thread on this and how to find it, I don't know.  Maybe someone will remember a keyword and you will be able to search on it.  The search function does not always find what you want.

 

The problem is Khorn, Khorns, Klipschhorn, etc.  Maybe searching the Tech Mods forum will narrow things down for you.  Good luck.

I followed Davis 419's instructions and it went off without a hitch. Its so simple it makes me wonder why so many don't just do it. A $50 sheet of 3/4" gets them both done. There is also enough left of to cut a piece to fill the trim void at the bottom as well if its bothers you. I had plans to cut the small pieces, paint it all black and so on. I covered them pushed them in the corners the best my room allowed and it was so good I haven't pulled them back out. No screws in the cabs either, just shoot two screws in the side vent supports, top and bottom and two in the tail board supports and you're done.

 

To enclose them "properly" and keep a closer number similar to actual wall use requires cutting off the tailboards and cutting a new top, bottom and tailboard for the dog house, etc, etc. Even then you don't get the wall extension.  One day I will have useable corners, but I really like the ability to toe them out instead of being stuck with a 45* angle.

Thank you, you don't need perfect corners either? And toeing them out makes them image better IMO

Maybe everyone who doesn't buy them because they don't have perfect corners, OR maybe they cant pull it off

Max you did a great job of enclosing the backs on your khorns, I had my khorns stuffed back in the corners for 1 1/2 years and they never imaged. Once I enclosed the backs and toed them out the image is spooky good !
