Arrow#422
@avguytx You've been kicking the Belle build / buy thing around for awhile now. Go look at them & maybe make an offer?
avguytx
Yeah. Been emailing him back and forth. Based on that serial number and the pictures, which version K-55 is in there? I just hate spending a wad of cash on something and then start changing things out. The hardest part of building them is not coming up with a K-500 horn for the mid. Khornukopia
That mid driver missing the label appears to be a K-55-M.
jimjimbo
That's a K55M. Looks like the label from the center came off.
avguytx
Where does the K-55-M fall into the range of the K-55's? t seems that's an argumentative point for some. lol
avguytx
Speakers were sold. Apparently someone wanting to pay more than me.
avguytx
Looks like the Belle's that were on CL in Little Rock were picked up and being flipped again. I told the guy that would happe and he should have sold them to me...a Belle lover. ha https://littlerock.craigslist.org/ele/5992091327.html

There was a single year, maybe half-year where there was an improved K-55-V with soldered lug and had a dual phase plug. This is considered the best sounding of the V's. Then around 1983 (not sure) came the K-55-M, can't remember who made it, but not Atlas. The M was considered an improvement over the V's and the 4500 to 6000 Hz dip in the V was smoothed out. It has some problems with the dust cap in the back coming loose causing an audible vibration, but re-gluing is the cure. Now there is a K-55-X. I have no idea what that is except latest and greatest. Ceptorman
I can't believe they didn't wipe the dust off of them before pic were taken.
