Khornukopia
Went outside after midnight to look at the constellations and to observe 28 db SPL on the meter. After a while I could faintly hear the hum of a pole mounted electric transformer about half a mile away, then I noticed the sound of a solitary car's tires rolling down the asphalt two lane highway a couple miles away. When the car travelled a mile or two further and the silence returned, a breeze caused some autumn leaves to rustle and made me realize that my neighborhood is not as quiet as I thought. Glad I have Klipsch speakers to drown out all the background noise around here.

cincymat
Neighbor is having 6 trees removed. Turning up Khorns to drown out the chain saws? Yikes. Mark

JJkizak
No one here has addressed the issue of all standard noise measurement devices cutting of at 30 to 50 HZ. You guys know all your subs go down a lot lower than that. JJK
oldtimer
The siren doesn't. But it is a friendly reminder of the times we live in---again.
YK Thom
I live up north so you would think it would be quiet but we live downtown so there are always sirens and such. one kilometre out of town you are in the bush and it is dead quiet. I always enjoy it during a heavy snowfall, damps everything down nicely.
