Given Izzo’s obsession about free throws, I’ll never understand why the players miss so many. I was at WVU the same time current coach Bob Huggins was there. He shot about 90% from the free throw line. His technique was flawless. The last I knew West Virginia doesn't even practice free throws during scheduled practice sessions. Players are expected to do that on their own time before or after practice.
wvu80
What the heck? Michigan State going down to 8-win 15- loss Illinois? MSU cleaned up their free throws to shoot 92%, but the first half killed them.

DizRotus
Magic, Kelser, et al seem to have inspired the Spartans.
Ceptorman
I like how the crowd created the shot clock violation, that was funny. 1

The NCAA released the top 16 seeds as they would be if the tournament were held today. Sparty would be the #2 seed in the East. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology
wvu80
I had to turn off the TV. WVU is getting beat at home by Texas and the final score will be a Mountaineer loss by 20 or 30. Time to see how LE is doing on Live PD.
wvu80
After beating #1 Virginia last weekend, Duke jumped into the #1 spot to take on #8 North Carolina tonight. The Tar Hills ran them out of their own gym at one time having a 20+ point lead. Duke lost the best player in the country Zion Williamson 33 seconds into the game when he slipped and completely blew out his shoe. It came completely apart and Zion hurt the opposite knee in the process.

Dave, remember to remove mittens prior to posting. 😉 LOL! I would never have caught that! You write like you talk. It's an understandable mistake if you knew the dialect in some parts of West Virginia. Washington is "Worsh-ington", a creek is a "crick" and the town of Oak Hill is "Oak Heeel" (draw out that single syllable).
DizRotus
#10 MSU vs #7 Michigan on Sunday. With first place in B1G on the line, but with Nick Ward and Joshua Langford on the sideline, it will still be an important game. Wolverines and Spartans are both projected as 2-seeds in the dance. Regardless of the outcome, that’s unlikely to change. On another topic, what’s Nike’s liability exposure for Zion’s knee injury caused by a shoe blowout? Who chose Nike, Zion or Duke? I suspect there is a paper trail that Nike and Duke could point to arguably minimizing, if not eliminating, their exposure. That injury could literally cost Zion millions of dollars. Inquiring minds want to know.
Ceptorman
Duke has been sponsored by Nike for years. He was wearing a pair of Paul George shoes, the James models are more supportive. Once he gets to the NBA, he can design his own shoes. Duke has an insurance policy on Williamson, so I guess not all is lost.
richieb
^^^^^ === Duke reportedly paid $50K for $8M policy on Williamson. Apparently colleges paying for insurance policies on their star players is not unusual.
DizRotus
All the experts are picking Michigan over MSU today in Ann Arbor. As a college basketball fan, I have to agree that MSU, without Langford and Ward, is the underdog. As a Spartan, I’m eager to root for an upset. GO GREEN!
DizRotus
That was nice. The “experts” were all wrong . . . again.
Dave1290
Gonna be alllll dialed in Saturday @ 8... The rematch should be a great game!
DizRotus
I’m worried. Most of the same “experts” in The Detroit News and The Detroit Free Press, who incorrectly predicted a U of M victory in Ann Arbor now, for the most part, predict a Spartan victory Saturday in East Lansing. It makes me uncomfortable when the “experts” pick Sparty. I much prefer underdog status.
