Arrow#422
@NiceSystem Great photo presentation! I see the serial numbers are quite a bit apart & one woofer has a wrinkled cone, but I'm most confused with your CL ad which states: "250watts continuous power, and 800watts peak"? Are these the super version RF-5's ? Consider updating with the accurate specs: 150 watts continuous & 600 watts peak. By the way, 5's are great 2-way main towers - or rears for 7's GLWS
NiceSystem
There were a couple of versions That were 250 watts continous power, with a peak power of 800 watts. That is why they 250 watts on the serials !! As you can see from the photos, there were 100 watts, 150 watts Mine are 250 watts.

NiceSystem
hmmmm I think you are mistaken. You don’t see in my photos 250 WATTS !! And again you are mistaken. There is NO WRINKLE in the woofer, that is the light. I know Klipsch made 3 Versions Of these. So don’t really care what you say. Price is very firm at $500.00 and that is a great deal.

This issue has come up before and the culprit was the first stickers made on several of these speakers had an error in the specs and got corrected on later models....{Edit: Here is a link to a discussion but I also seem to remember Amy confirming it being a labeling error.}

I've seen RF-5's with different wattage ratings depending on where you look. It's really not an issue as I've never heard of a blown one. These are probably the best balanced speaker in the Reference line. I wish I had never sold mine. GLWYS, these are beauts.

Fwiw, I remember Amy confirming there were mistakes on the original labels but couldn't find the original post--That said and to clarify for the OP, there was only ONE version of the RF-5s and we are talking about a labeling error. Now that you mention it, I seem to remember something along those lines but I don't recall which one was correct. I've definitely seen both. jjptkd
I've had 4 different pairs of RF-5's now over the past few years, 2 cherry, 1 maple and my current pair in black and all have said 150 watts on the rear stickers.

Insofar as the discrepancy in labeling is concerned those pictures exhibit a Klipsch Quality Control sticker along with serial numbers so that should alleviate anyone's concern these aren't legit.
