gullahisland
http://shinallandcompany.com/ Check out this website. No information on the drivers used. Dimensions, frequency response, etc. are IDENTICAL. Anyone know anything about this? Is there a potential patent/copyright infringement? Advertised sale price for the K-horn copy is $3K on AudiogoN. Istari
Patents have long since run out on the old heritage line. At least they haven't copied the Belle or La Scalla, YET!
TBrennan
Interesting. I like the Cornwall copy. I wonder what drivers they use.

sheltie dave
Andy or Mr. P might know, but there was some connection between Shinall and Klipsch. He has sold gorgeous handmade single Belles on Audiogon before, and the work of his I have seen has been top notch and extremely sympathetic with PWk's vision. Not being disrespectful of Seattleites, but these are not early Speakerlabs! They too are furniture quality. I still love my real Klipsch
3dzapper
No sweat they except trades! LMAO "Shinall and Company will accept trade-ins for McIntosh Amplifiers, McIntosh Pre-Amps, McIntosh Tuners, McIntosh CD Players and Klipschhorn Speaker Systems as well as other Klipsch speaker models." Thanks for the good chuckle Shinall. Rick
Bill H.
I think they don't want to sell alot of speakers with this cavet......... "Shinall and Company is a very small company located in Spring, Texas just 30 miles north of downtown Houston. We do not package our speaker products, but arrangements can be made for shipment. Deliveries can be made for local sales within 250 miles of Houston. Texas residents are subject to Texas Sales Tax. "
Deang
I must impress easy. Maybe the drivers are junk.
ben.
Be mindful of what Paul Klipsch said about speaker building, that people think you just get some good drivers and throw them in a box and they'll sound good. Not so. The quality of construction is of paramount importance. He even placed it above driver quality, IIRC.
ben.
Heh, Dean, we crossed posts but it worked anyway. Cosmic.
lshannon
Cornwalls copies Price: $1,450.00 / Pair I wonder if they copied Cornwall I's or II's and if they are horizontal or vertical.
Audible Nectar
An acoustic suspension Cornwall copy?? That's a bit weird. A Harewall
Randy Taylor
How long have these folks been around, looks like they bought plans on E-bay and started to build, they don't say much about the speakers or how eff. the speakers are. I wonder what the crossover is like?
TheEliteOne
If they're asking for trade-in's on old Klipsch speakers, you can tell what they're obviously doing. They're taking the Klispchs, changing one thing, and putting their logo on it. Isn't that illegal in someway?
Bill H.
I emailed them, to see if they had pictures/specs on the Insides of the speakers......haven't heard back yet...............(me thinks I smell a rat). EDIT": I will let everyone know when/if I hear from them!
gullahisland
I was going to do the same thing Bill, but didn't want to do so from work. Rather than flooding them with messages, if you wouldn't mind please let us know what you hear from them. Could be VERY interesting!
Yossarian
They quote the same frequency specs of 30 to 20,000 hertz on the XA-12 and XA-15. Magical bass response from what is so clearly a copy of a Heresy! Good looking stuff, though. Nick
sheltie dave
The Belle I laid hands on was a slightly larger duplicate. Solid walnut exterior boards, beautiful, Klipsch guts with custom crossover. Good quality. The biggest difference is the exchange ratio in buy/sell compared to the Klipsch. My one friend said it was looking at a Ford GT40, and then a Bradley GT40. Course, Stan is a lucky dog and has the real GT40
Seadog
Interesting. They claim 30 Hz - 20 KHz ± 5 db for their XA12 model. Doubtful with a 12" woofer? My brother lives about 35 miles from their location. I should ask him to go over and check them out. He owns Klipschorns, Lascalas, Cornwall 1s and IIs, so he should know what to look for.
