seti Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I found this on the web but what the heck is it a tricked out beautiful klipschorn? This made me wonder if there were any other Paul Klipsch designs that didn't make it to production but should have. I know this could be considered sacrilege but I wonder if any new klipschorn speakers could be possible in the future? The New Dope From Hope! Seti Quote
D-MAN Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 That thar is the Jubilee (all dressed up for a night out). DM Quote
ssh Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Seti, It's in the archives, but I don't remember how many months ago. SSH Quote

I suppose I missed this one some how. That wooden horn up top is dead sexy. Quote
artto Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 They're not actually released yet. I believe there are only one or two pairs in existence. Estimated MSRP $15000-$17000/pair. The bass bottom is the same as used in Klipsch pro audio MCM Grand theater systems. Does not need wall corners like the Khorn Quote
D-MAN Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Does anyone know if the wooden horn (as shown) is going to be part of the package? DM Quote
tpg Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 The bottom bass section is not the same as the MCM Grand... the MCM uses dual 15" woofers in a W-fold horn-loaded enclosure. It uses the same bottom as the KPT-Jubilee, which is dual 12". The actual home version may not be dual 12", though... does anyone know for sure? The cinema Jubilee can be seen here. The MCM can be found here. Quote
greg928gts Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Has anyone here ever heard a pair of KPT Jubilee's set up as stereo speakers with tube amps and a decent source? I wonder how they would compare to Khorns? Greg Quote
Daddy Dee Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 What??? The Jubilee only has twin 12's??? I thought for sure it had twin 15's. Well, I need to get a note off to Joshua Ryan Hall. I'm sorry, but that is a deal breaker for me. Will have to cancel my pre-order. Quote
jt1stcav Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 It would be sweet indeed to see this consumer Jubilee come to be (wasn't it one of PWK's final designs?). But I doubt it ever will...I hope I'm wrong! Quote
JohnA Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Yes, I've heard them. The front end escapes me, perhaps B&K. They sound quite nice. They have more mid-bass than a pair of Type AK-3 K-horns in the same room and likely go deeper. The last I heard was there was a bass driver mod to get more low bass being tested. Quote
jt1stcav Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 That's reassuring, John, but do you think they will they ever see production? Quote
tpg Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 THe KPT Jubilee's were designed for thin areas where cinema sound was still needed... as in behind screens where a wall was. That is why they are physically smaller than MCM Grand and have only dual 12" instead of 15". The 12's required less box space. The entire speaker is only... what... under 2 feet deep? I forget... radiob Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Are they going to be produced? If so, why are they waiting? I would sell my multiple systems for a pair. Quote
seti Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 I found this link on the site http://www.klipsch.com/media/Photos/KPTjubilee_large.jpg but it is obviously not the same critter. I am thinking of jobs in Hope, AR but wouldn't it be great if that was made at the same facrtory as the khorns. I just love that wooden horn how do they sound compared to the regular horns?
