I hate to think what it would've cost to fill up one of those big a$$ SUV's. The sad thing is that will effect the cost of just about everything else! You know that it has got to be costing those truck drivers some serious bucks, let alone fuel for airplanes, fuel for the trains, and so forth, to ship this stuff, as well as the fuel for the farm tractors and such. Yup, I see some sharp increases in prices not only at the gas pump, but also at the cash register at the local supermarket.

m00n
only thing I have in my favor is that I can work from one one or two days a week. That really helps.
michael hurd
Guess you guys wouldn't want to live in Northern Ontario, our gas price is 95.2 cents a litre. To fill up an older Chevy crew cab with dual 76 litre tanks will kill $ 120 canadian.
djk
How much is that in real money? I only need to fill my van up once a month, sometimes it seems like I should check the interest rates with the Fed before I take out a loan. I whip out a $100 bill and the Yale grad behind the counter goes: got anything smaller (sure, here's a $20, OK, like to see you take it out of that)? Audible Nectar
Thank goodness for owning a Corolla. $24 to fill it - but it gets 300-475 miles to the tank, depending on type of driving. If you think it's expensive now.....it's only going to get worse. Think $3 per gallon - I don't think that's far off. Averages of $2.60 for basic unleaded by mid summer is pretty much a given. Remember, the summer season is coming - higher prices. SUV's - bad idea, at least if you are $$$ conscious. Better start thinking hybrids, folks! Marvel
I have a '98 Blazer, 14 gallon tank. About $24 to fill up here in N. Georgia. I also get about 20mpg on it. On long road trips I get 23-24mpg. It isn't supposed to get that good mileage, but it does. Perhaps because I drive 30 miles to work, and almost all on the highway (winding state road, so I run about 50-60 mph depending on the stretch I'm on. ZAKO
Its cheaper to buy a NEW Klipschorn & stay home. But the shipping charges will now be pretty steep.

My home is very small; my main car is a bicycle. My other car is a Ford Escort Station Wagon. February's total gasoline bill was under $30; the heating bill was $60. Electricity was $23. However, I do have a killer sound system and very low cholesterol! life is good! Forrest

From a 1/4 tank level. $2.31/gal for reg where I go, that is the cheapest around.

It just seems wrong for a fill-up on a motorcycle to be 12 or 13 dollars (Canadian). Tom

kenratboy
Regular (87 octane) is over $2.25 in Reno. We have some of the worst gas prices in the USA.

We are told to expect it to get close to $3/gal by the summer. I believe we are tied with SF for the most expensive gas prices.
