garymd
Just listened to a killer version of "Let's Face The Music And Dance" on Sinatra's "ring-a-ding-ding" LP. Definitely prefer it over Diana Krall. Some of those old Reprise and Capitol LPs sound amazing.
colterphoto1
BSA, it's sooo crystal clear, I love the dualing vocals of Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale. There is also some insane swing drumming by Ian Paice. Separation and clarity are outstanding. Jon's organ sounds almost too clean, like they took out some of that dirty Hammond tube sound. Ritchie is in great form, after all, they had just fired his enemy Ian Gillan. Check out 'You Fool No One'! I got a chance to meet and work with Glenn about 10 years back at a Tommy Bolin tribute show in Denver Co. He was in recovery then and looking very good and feeling spiritual. LarryC
Nothing tonight (studying) but last night saw a LIVE performance by a young piano trio (violin, cello and piano), on the same level and not up on a stage, and less than 20 feet away, of Beethoven's "Archduke" trio and Brahms' piano trio No. 1 Op.8. There is nothing like SEEING works performed like that so very up close and personal. You can really see the fingers fly. It gives a tremendous appreciation for individual and the group's efforts, and a much greater insight into the full genius of Beethoven and Brahms. Hearing it on Klipsch is still closer to real music than anything else IMO. Larry

jacksonbart
Dire Straits 'Alchemy'. I thought this sounded so good when this came out and now, while a great performance, just goes to show how far the CD format has come compared to my recent purchases. Still a classic.
