That's Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Remember "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"?

Going from Devil's Tower, here is Saviour's Tower (right) in Red Square with Lenin's Tomb and Intercession Cathedral (St. Basil's).

More pics - I'm scanning slides like crazy. We snowmobiled into Yellowstone for the Y2K New Years Eve. Here are a couple of shots from January 1, 2000.

Dawn eruption of Old Faithful. January 1, 2000. Fifteen degrees below zero (wife claims 50 below zero).

Cool shot! What were you doing there? Here's a shot from a 1996 project I was working on along the Barents Sea coast in Russia - directly across the pole from your shot. It's an offshore shot of a Nenets fishing outpost just before dawn.
