thebes
No help to offer but keep us advised. I'm sure she's at least as smart as you and took off before the storm hit, so hopefully everything is all right. wish I could add more. sunburnwilly
My buddies inlaws live in Gulf Port . I spoke with him yesterday . They evacuated to Tenn. and will be going to Homestead Fla . to live with him and his wife for awhile . If you are your mothers child I'm sure she evacuated too . My best to you and your family Clueless , this is going to be a bad situation for alot of people for a long time . Material possesions mean nothing in the grand scope of things . cluless
thanks all, Still no word, communications are completely down. The salvation army has an emergency radio net set up. I tried to put info on that but I'm not sure if the data was accepted, the site was obviously getting alot of hits. Someone suggested ham radio operators might be able to get info in/out. I saw some video, it looks like her house is toast, but I can't figure out if the hotel she is in is ok. This is making me crazy (ier). Cal Blacksmith
For those who were not in the path of the monster, waiting for news on loved ones who were in the path is very hard. I pray for you to be calmed and your mother to be safe.
thebes
Here's something that may help. Contact your local Congressman's district office and speak to a caseworker. They might be able to get the info where you can't .

J.4knee
CLUE that is good news indeed!!! I have a coworker/friend who works at the shipyard in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Pascagoula who just notified us he and his family are in good health and survived the storm. They only have some minor tree damage to their house. However every other house within two blocks was completely destroyed down to the foundations. Nothing left but concrete slabs!
