Name that Tune - No Cheating Using Computer Word Searches

Perhaps a rereading of the rules is in order for us newbies....

" Rules: No cheating. This can be fun unless cheaters destroy it. Give lyrics of about 10 words minimum to national classic rock artists (no local no-names). Winner gets to post his own lyrics. And the game plays on.... No cheaters (The answers are all over the net. The game gets destroyed too fast.) If you break down and cheat, don't post the answer and spoil the challenge.

The song only needs to be identified w/certainty (exactness is not critical; artist is not required). If the song is correctly named but the artist is not, the answer is still correct.

If the guess is correct, the person correctly guessing has within 10 minutes to post a new set of lyrics as a challenge. "

Thanks for playing,

Michael

Michael - What was the issue? Zappa I believe is nationally known, or was it my recent post. You have heard the artist of my recent post.

For any one confused my lyrics are posted on the bottom of the previous page.

Am I close here?

Not to be an ahole, but what national ROCK band did lacucaracha? Please humor me...I was up all night with visions of hariry legs and cockaroaches

oh crud, you have to have the song title. I've no idea, but sure it's Peter Gabrial. Little help?

Michael

Michael's upset! He stayed up all night listening to his entire Santana collection - all for naught. [:(]

Really, though, he's right. Let's stay w/national Classic Rock artists. Also, anyone feel free to enforce the 10 min. post rule. I've seen alot more answers/bail-outs lately.

EDIT: BTW, Michael, were the hairy legs ON the cockaroaches? I hope so. [;)]

Thanks Jeff, I didn't know, maybe Dave Matthews did a La Cucaracha- he does everything else LOL

I haven't bailed on the last one, just can't place the song title, and that's critical per the rules.

Anyone else place a guess on JacksonBart's poser? How bout a hint toward the title if we've decided it's Gabriel....

It is Peter Gabriel -- Come Talk to Me.

Gotta do what you can just to keep your love alive

Trying not to confuse it with what you do to survive

In sixty-nine I was twenty-one and I called the road my own

I don't know when that road turned onto the road I'm on

Steely Dan, Deacon Blues

I used to be such a sweet, sweet thing

Until they got a hold of me

I opened doors for little old ladies

I helped the blind to see

No more Mr. Nice Guy - Allice Cooper

Here ya go...is a RnR hall of fame band good enough for ya Michael?

Do you remember Murray the K,

Alan Freed, and high energy?

It's the end, the end of the 70's

It's the end, the end of the century

Do you remember lying in bed

With your covers pulled up over your head?

Radio playin' so no one can see

We need change, we need it fast

Before rock's just part of the past

'Cause lately it all sounds the same to me

Oh oh oh oh, oh oh

That's more like it....

Let it Rain, Let it Rain

EC, Derek, Slowhand, Mr Eric Clapton hisself.

What did I do to deserve such a fate

I didn't really want to get

Involved in this thing

Someone handed me this gun and I

I gave it everything

Yeah, I gave it everything

Hint, album and songtitle are the same.... and it's classic rock. definitely classic.

Alice Cooper, Killer...

Michael,

The list was an attempt at humor... no, none of the groups are

classical rock. I should have also posted an MP3 excerpt from

Bugs Bunny... anybody who grew up watching any of the old Warner Bros.,

Merry Melodies or Looney Toons cartoons heard "La Choucaracha" about a

bazillionty-seven times...

try:

Shreads of our memories are lying on your grass;

Wounded words of laughter are graveyards of the past.

Photographs are grey and torn, scattered in your fields

Letters of your memories are not real.
