charlieboy
Well I finally got most of my records in order this last weekend and part of this week. My gear is off to the left hand side now. I also put a couch in the room. I have been trying different placement with the sound panels also. The wall of records has made a natural diffusion wall it seems. I seem to have much more detail in the midrange area but had to turn up my sub levels. The room is sounding pretty damn good. Now I will concentrate on saving some money this summer to get started on a custom speaker project will include Altec 511b horns and either La Scala bass bins or Cornwalls. BTW. The wall of records is 6ft high and 20ft. wide.
rplace
SaWeeeet! Very nice looking reminds me of this scene from High Fidelity. Dick: I guess it looks as if you're reorganizing your records. What is this though? Chronological? Rob: No... Dick: Not alphabetical... Rob: Nope... Dick: What? Rob: Autobiographical. Dick: No f***ing way. Eidt: sorry about that! I thought the forum software zapped words like that. I had to edit it manually.

steamer
Charlie, I wonder which is bigger your rack of vinyl or Colt's stack of Klipsch? Looking good! Greg
charlieboy
Are you kidding Greg? LOL! Michaels wall of Klipsch looks like a Van Halen concert setup. Minus all the hot groupies!
shload
Real nice, are those the larger IKEA racks your vinyl is on? I have the smaller size and need to go to a larger one. Joe
meagain
What speakers do you have in there? and are the visible ones Chorus or Forte?
charlieboy
Anytime Jordan. Yes those are the big IKEA racks, and yes those are Chorus I's. Right now the are the only speakers in the room. I aquried a spare room 12x14 and all my extra and vintage gear and speakers went in there as well as a 1,500 more records a workbench for my electronics, and a spare computer. My listening room is really clean and more friendly with a nice couch instead of a single chair as well as some abstract paintings to color things up a bit. jt1stcav
That's a music room to be damn proud of...nice job!
DrWho
lol, Colter has a pretty big wall of vinyl too...maybe 1/4th of this one - not sure if you would include that in the "wall o klipsch" or not. He's also got another wall full of CD's as well - which should hold a lot more per cubic foot. I totally dig the guys with a huge music collection - shows they're investing into the more important parts of their systems. (I am very ashamed of my music collection). Moderators Travis In Austin Posted July 1, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 1, 2006 Yes those are the big IKEA racks, Charlieboy, Are those the "Expidet" line of bookcases from Ikea. Those look great and a perfect way to go for lp's. Wish they had one in Austin, the website said the Expidet line is not available through the website. I may have to call Houston or Dallas and see if they will ship. Is there any bowing on those shelves? Great looking set up!!!!!! charlieboy
Come on down Bob. Travis those are the Expidit. I was going to have them shipped but shipping was 200 bucks for 2 shelves. The shelves were 300 for 2 and I did not want to pay 200 to ship them. They are heavy. No bowing whatsoever. They are very strong. Moderators Travis In Austin Posted July 1, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 1, 2006 Thanks for the update, yeah I checked the shipping and it is crazy. I am going to send someone down to Houston pick me up a couple. Again, it looks super. Travis
