Moderators dtel Posted August 20, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted August 20, 2006 Roughly 1 big pot and alot of heat 20 gallons water 1 LB ground Cayenne pepper 20 whole bay leaves 2 Lb salt 10 Lb small potatoes 6 large onions cut in half 8 whole heads of garlic cut in half 2 bags of Zatarains crab boil [ mixed seasoning mostly pepper corns] in boilable bag 6 lemons cut in half 6 oranges cut in half 24 oz whole mushrooms 5 LB smoked sausage cut up 2'' 12 ears of corn cut in half About 5 dozen crabs Add potatoes, garlic, cayenne, bayleaves, onions ,salt, seasonings bags, lemons, bring to a boil, add crabs, bring to a boil for 5 min, turn off heat and add the rest of the ingredients, let soak 40 minutes in pot, then drain and eat. A kid brother of a friend of mine decided to cook crabs all by himself...he added the live crabs when the water was cold...of course, as the water warmed up, the crabs said "Amscray!" and climbed out of the pot.
