m00n
Ok, I admit... I'm a fan of the 80s era of rock and roll. Never grew up I suppose because I'm still stuck in the 80s'. I'd like to start a thread that talks about all those long lost, foregotten 80's bands. One that comes to mind that I've recently redescoverd is a band who has an incredible Led Zepplin sound. Kingdom Come I'd love to encourage you all to post any of those long lost bands. I'm kind of on a rediscovery of them all. Does not necessarly have to be metal, galm or anything... Can be pop as well, yes I admit I loved a lot of the pop as well.

Groomlakearea51
Gary Newman, Dan Hartman, and After The Fire come to mind. Also alot of "Euro Trash" bands floated around in those days. Mostly one hit wonders, but still some neat stuff.

customsteve01
I worked in a bar in the eighties that had alot of bands play there. some of the ones I remember best? Huey Lewis and the News, they were cool not real big partiers from what I remeber Vixon, they were all stuck on themselves and wouldn't go partying with us. Toro - Toro These guys were really cool and would party all night with us. Boy some really cool memories from that bar. Steve
flannj
The Del Fuegos <-- Boston based garage sound. The Blasters <-- The Alvin brothers belong in the R&R hall of fame. The Specials <-- "Ghost Town" is a truly infectious song. XTC <-- Spectacular songwriting. The greatest band that never toured. The English Beat <-- My favorite SKA band. The Beat Farmers <-- Best bar band EVER. BoDeans <-- Still together. UB40 <-- Also still together and going strong. "Rat in Mi Kitchen" features a great trumpet solo by Herb Alpert. The Replacements <-- You could tell from the beginning that it wouldn't last. Webb Wilder <-- The last of the full grown men. "Work Hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard, grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em." The Violent Femmes <-- Bandmates not getting along today. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And although they started in the mid 70's and are by no means forgotten, their career for the most part is defined by the 80's. The greatest band in the history of the world: The Talking Heads - Jim
