  4. Fred: I'm trying to do exactly what you requested. However, I just walked into the "blow-something" trap. While I attempted to determine which DIN pin was wired to which, my hand slipped, and I shorted out a couple of pins. There was a pop from the speakers. So, I plugged-in the native control module and saw that the power light was not lit. So, in that instant something fried. Opening up the unit I found that R-12 on the power supply board was open and there were some scorch marks on the board around one of the pins. So, I need to find a source for a 98K ohm resistor. Someone on the forum said there were multiple wiring methods for the DIN plug so looking for a schematic is futile. You'll have to find a way to get the sequence for your unit individually. Once you get that you can wire up a cable to a DIN plug with all the channel inputs. (LF, LR, RF, RR, Sub) There should be +15V and -15V DC on two of the pins. That's the culprit. If you ground those pins you blow something in the power supply like me. If you feed 15V to one of the amps it'll blow the IC amp. I got lucky (I think) and only blew one resistor. (We'll see tomorrow if I can find a 98K ohm resistor someplace.) After pulling the electronics out of the sub box I still don't know how to determine which pin goes with which input. It's late so I'll poke at it tomorrow. If you come up with a solution, I'd appreciate your reply with the information. This is a wonderful little system with 5 amps inside the box along with the power supply, etc. However, everything is very compact, so you have to be careful when disassembling things. I understand each of the amps is capable of 60W and the sub amp puts out 100W. (Don't quote me. The numbers may be different.) Just feed it with an external preamp and you've got a nice system. -- George --
  5. Sender is “Jimmie Worthman”. Obviously a scam but I don’t know how they got my email.
  6. Funny, you'd post that as I was having a vision typing away. lol THAT would be fun and off the charts good. Enjoy it!
  7. @Abomb Always nice to move some air, which in turn, moves some hair on your legs in the summertime when you're wearing shorts. How's that gold card lookin? 😂 Hittin the 80's around here lately. Possibility of shower's last night so closed the windows a bit. Woke up slimy. No rain so crashed again and woke up at noon. Calling for more garbage tonight. Too early to fire up the a/c but maybe. Monday's Memorial Day once again. The one day of the year I absolutely dread. Most of the WWII guys are gone and forgotten as are so many of us Nam boys 'n girls. Duckburg's annual parade will prolly get called for rain and the service will be held at the High School. Yea, ya stay dry but I wonder how many would stand out in the rain at the cemetery listening to a high school kid recite the Gettysburg Address? Then the band play a lil diddy and someone play taps. Prolly not many. After that, it's down to the Legion for some piggy and brotherhood? Yea, then I get my annual water glass full of Scotch neat and think about all of it. The people, the music and the true cost of freedom. Yea, it is what it is but... There's ALWAYS a but. That ONE darn song. Fly a flag? If ya do it's half-staff @ 9AM and back up to full staff at noon. Carry on!
  8. Since it's already dark it's a little hard to see, but we're helping to roast a couple pigs for a Filipino thing tomorrow. One is about 125lbs the other 150lbs.
  9. i like to adjust equalizer it sounds like dance, rock, etc.
  10. Wish I could do that for my own memory... slip in a couple more DIMMs behind the left ear...
  11. Hello everyone, first post, first home theatre. I just purchased a new home that was built with 14 speakers in the ceiling...basically every room except the great room. Previous owner was big on audio, all of the drywall patches in the great room tell me there were multiple speakers hanging at one point. I have already purchased a receiver, amplifier, and speaker selectors to handle the whole home audio. Now I'm trying to build the best 5.1 system I can. Unfortunately, we have a huge U shaped couch that is 15x12, and takes up the majority of the 20x18 great room. I'm in a wheelchair (bike accident) so the couch will be against the back wall due to space constraints. As a result, I'm stuck doing my surrounds in the ceiling or rear wall. Personally, I'm leaning towards ceiling surrounds with the CDT-5800-CIIs or the CDT-5650-CIIs placed as close to the rear wall and as wide as possible, vs putting the R-5800-WII or R-5650-SII in the wall behind my head. I understand this isn't ideal, but it's my reality. As for the front 3 speakers, I think I have 3 choices. 1) 100% in-wall: R-5502-WII center with (2) R-5800-WII or R-5650-WII for R & L. All in wall and super clean. I have room below and on sides of tv to accomplish this. 2) Pair a conventional center channel like the 500C or 504CII with the in wall R-5800s or R-5650s for R & L...match tremble as best as possible. 3) Go 5000/6000/8000FII towers with corresponding center for a killer 3.1, knowing that the surrounds will be ehhh.... For the room size, what front 3-speaker combo makes the most sense? My only concern with towers and a conventional center channel is space. I understand that floor speakers should be a couple feet off a wall for best performance. I'd be forced to "shove" them into a little cut out that is 9' (108") wide and 2' deep in the great room. I'd have to do a small (30-40" wide) media center to hold the receiver, amp, etc, in the center to have enough space for the floor speakers and sub to fit in the nook. Floorplan & photo attached. 85" is already mounted. Really appreciate any advice. Brad

  14. Beautiful walnut IV's and custom glass tops! I'm sure they sound every bit as good as they look. Sad you have to part ways with something that can give you so much sonic pleasure. Did you consider upgrading the spouse so you can keep these beauties? Just kidding, this is why i'll be a bachelor forever with black La Scalas, dual subwoofers and tubes as the centerpiece of my living room. Good luck with the sale!
  15. @billybob was just getting an error msg when I hit the link. Went another direction and got it.
  16. R41M speaker on the right makes a noise like someone blowing air at a piece of paper. Noise is on and off every 2 3 seconds. It is heard when there's no music playing. Speakers are connected to RSL ia255.1 amp. Noise comes from the right no matter which speaker I put there. My old speakers dont have that problem. Anyone has any experience with this? Thanks.

  18. @SpeakerAddict I don't see crossovers in your pictures so, If the buyer of these speakers wants to purchase some OEM Klipsch passive crossover networks, I have a few for sale, because I converted mine to active crossovers.

  20. I am new to speaker audio, I’ve been researching for awhile now but find this a bit overwhelming, but am trying to learn, I would like to have a setup with the 600M IIs but don’t know what I need to get them going on my pc. I’ve been looking at amps and preamp but can’t seem to find anything good for these. Specifically been looking a Schiit audio products to pair with these. Any recommendations for preamps and amps to pair with these guys? Or what I need to lookout for
  21. Hmmmm, my unzip pile... It just keeps getting larger. Doors open, worthless all day. Blowin off the second baaseball game. Maybe, just maybe, I'll throw on Knopfler's "One Deep River" double gatefold. At least it APPEARS to have 4 sides of tunes. Blah, gonna go pick up a salad somewhere. Anyone buying or am I on my own again? Yea, what I figured. bbiab 😂
  22. @dirtmudd wellllll that isn't werkin. Everything's up to date to. Ugh.
