  1. Rodney is all country, this is him giving his dogs a treat late sat night, it's baloney or hot dogs or just about anything for treat time. All 5 of the dogs just sit still waiting for there turn, they know better than to try and steal any, especially from the small dogs. In this pic most people were out in front under the overhang, there was storms passing through and they were watching the lightning. That is his recliner, it has a little wear but his favorite spot.

  2. And he loves the company, it was 3 am and he was right there with us picking out songs to play at about 100 Db, he loves a party. A pic of where we boiled the crawfish and shrimp, then his kitchen with smoker on the other side of that wall to the left through that door. To the back right right of that red container is a pallet with the crawfish sacks under burlap, behind that silver pot with the corn. I should have got a pic of all the sacks.

  3. I spent the entire day recongifuring my front stage layout as it had gotten slightly out of control recently... nothings really changed, it's just cleaner and neat now. I even took the time to rehang my Monitor (it took three attemps) to get it as close to level as possible. Walnut much the beginning... The "Money" shot... Finally... this shyte is exhausting!

  5. OK so I had a project today, we are going to give our oldest daughter a pair of forte's and a sub for her new remodeled house. We had for rear surrounds a pair of original Forte's for L&R and a center forte ll for the back 3, in a 6.1 setup. We had an extra pair of Forte ll's we thought about giving her but she does not care so I decided to switch them out and have 3 of the ll version across the back . I was being lazy not wanting to switch them out but decided it had been like that for 10 years and it will probably be forever after this switch I might as well do it. Problem was they are mounted up on the ceiling against a beam, and they weigh 70 pounds each. Plus the one version was Walnut and the ll version is Oak like the center, they will all match, not that were that particular. They are aimed like that because the sofa is against that beam right under them. I got the 18 year old grandson to help catch them as I lowered them from the ladder. But I'm glad it's over, except for putting the next ones up. You would not believe the dust on the back of the speakers behind where you can not reach 10 years worth, I put them on the front porch and used the blower to blow them off, next I need to wipe them down. They are Walnut oil so I will oil them before we give them to her, plus I am going to order those metal grate speaker covers for the rear passive radiator because they have cats dogs and kids. This where they were. I did this because there years ago because there is no other place to put anything on the sides rear. It's a sickness.

  9. It's true, and it's not enough to try to pick good electronics, there is something they call "synergy" and it's real. Sometimes for unknown reasons something will match perfectly even if it's not "rated" as a top brand, but still can sound amazing together. The driving part of this hobby is automatically built into it............You don't know what your missing until you hear it !......... so your always wondering.

Da*n... I'm in the right place I'm thinkin! On a positive note though I'm picking up a nice pair of Heresy1's tomorrow... Will ya make it without me??? lolol

  15. This was some drone video Kevin made in 2016 of the Pilgrimage, more people the next year and it looks to be bigger this year. Since that video he added added a big porch to the front of the club house, redone the kitchen and closed it in and about 5 more ponds, not as big as the first.

  18. I have a "record player" ... one of those gray boxes from the school system. I know we are old enough to remember those. My dad had this one because it will play 78's. If those folks that stole the Mac and TT, even if they knew what LS are worth, it like the Chamber of Commerce in Anchorage.... They have a piece of jade on display on the sidewalk ... nobody messes with it ... It the size a VW. got the tamper-proof screw from the coffee maker. No obvious sign of problem. It didn't let magic smoke. The fuse is still good, too. I wonder if we got back to basics ... is it plugged in? is it turned on? Something stupid... like the plug/power lead developed a break. It acts like an "open". There is a relay ... but that is for the heater coil... I don't think power is getting there.

  21. Read, read and more reading Elden. Things are making sense and becoming more clear. There's just so much out there today. That slippery slope is real... Years ago, it was all Mcintosh/Klipsch for the most part. Today? Ugh! Things today are disposable, which imo isn't the way to go. Yet, that is what drives today's economy/businesses. It was always nice to be able to go to your "man" and know things were right when you took them back home. Today, dumpster! The marriage made in heaven was always Klipsch/Mcintosh, with a smattering of others, until the Pac Rim countries entered the market. You weren't "IN" until you had something solid state made there. Afterall, you got your arm broken if you even peeked in the back of the TV and got caught! "Don't you EVER get into things back there. You want to die?" Sure they had some tube stuff but who wanted something like that? Today, with so much out there, you really can't find fault w/anyone's selection of components. It's all in what you truly hear today, just as it was back then. My take on it anyway...

  22. That's true cats are funny, and they scare easily, put a mirror somewhere and watch when it sees it's reflection. We had birds at one time and with certain music they would whistle along, good thing it was only on a few songs.

  23. My thoughts too billybob... Next move is tubes fpr both systems. Please don't go there yet cause I feel like I have one foot nailed down and I'm spinning in circles. Kinda like a woman buying shoes while you have to stand there and wait. lol She wants to go into WNBA contractual stuff since most women make less than $100k a year playing.

  26. w/o knowing the characters let me guess .. Rodney lets him stay there to keep him out of trouble? Short story of Mugger and Cindy they have a place way out in the hills. We only see Mugger once in a while.... Cindy won't let him come to town. He gets into trouble

  27. My youngest saw my LS and said in a txt, "I WANT" so the Heresy will sit on top and I'll tell her she can have the ones she thinks sound best. Then again, maybe I'll just keep them. She has yet to go thru my intensive 2-channel course on WHAT to listen to and how LOUD things have to be to truly HEAR things. Law school next? Ugh...

  28. For Rodney it is, but don't be fooled by it's looks it's pretty comfortable, but is was broken in a very long time ago, so long ago the brown is worn off. Edit; Now that I think about it your right, about 35' in front of that chair is his pair of 396's, so your right.

  33. Just to add insult to injury... Decided to tear into the coffee maker to see if there is a fuse or some other "no user serviceable part" that needs attention. I am beginning to think there is ... I have seen a lot of different screw head types ... straight, phillips, square, torx, torx w/dimple ... a lot of different stuff Well, half of the screw holding the coffee maker together are phillips ... the others Something different. a "dash-dot-dash" straight drive. Since they went to lengths to keep us away ... I bet there is a fuse under there.... I will have to modify a screwdriver to find out.

  34. Yes he built chicken houses for years, he is kind of retired now but still has 6 chicken houses on the other end of the property from where the clubhouse is, it's over 600 acres with about 5 new ponds but the original big one is 90 acres. It has a road going a few hundred feet into it with what he calls a lake house. He does not live in it he build a space in the back of the clubhouse for him to stay since he is always there. Over by the chicken houses is a old house that was where his mother stayed with him until she passed a few years ago, he did live there for a while. The Lake house was the the party house until he built the club house, he built it for people to party, and he loves when it happens. This weekend about 4 am I asked him, I bet your going to be glad when we all leave in the am ? He said no, I love it, Y'all need to stay longer. The lake house...........we have gone there to sleep many nights trying to get to sleep fast as the sun was coming up. I have been upstairs in the shower and could hear every word of the music being played on the side of the club house from Keven's 2 pair of Kp 600's during Pilgrimage at 3:30 am, it's probably 1/2 mile ? from the clubhouse.

  38. @WillyBob due to the recording method and technology of the day It will sound like this If they used 78 rpm and used a better recording method the sound would probably be way better than 33rpm but less content would fit on the disc

  39. Have feelers out on TT's but no response. Like a deal and a bargain but, right now am just going with my Technics TT as it is sufficing. Have learned a lot from my research, I hope. Playing some 45's that I have here when I get setup again just for hoots. Really thinking of doing the goo solution on my collection of keepers. Hope to get a TT local, as in, not Tampa, Orland, or Jax. Like a good roadtrip but, really like picking up more than one item. Did find a Music Hall MMF-1 that looks nice and trouble free, as in more modern.
